Release: Clifton VA. Historic Building Flooded! And Historic Event.

September 6, 2008 after heavy rains the Masonic Lodge which is a historic building in Clifton, Va. was again submerged under water when the adjacent creek overflowed its banks.

The Masonic Lodge was last flooded in June 2006 after several days of rain caused the creek to overflow. For the past two-years they have been raising money and acquiring Architect and Structural Engineer Drawings, they are now ready to lift the historic building in the air and then place it back on a new three feet higher concrete foundation to assure it will not get flooded again...

This Thursday or Friday, September 11th or 12th the building will be lifted by a house mover, then a day later be moved to a new temporary location while a new foundation is built, then it will be placed back to its original location...

What a historic event this will be, it is not everyday a Masonic Lodge building gets picked up and moved, get your camcorders and cameras ready!!!
