For the folks at 12A; job well done. This takes customer service to heart, even when the customers can't (verbally) thank you.... at least the 4-legged ones.

The supplies were provided by me, at my cost, and no cost to the taxpayers. I cannot speak for the firefighters but we are all aware in this area of the existence of Lyme disease and most people check themselves, their children and their pets thoroughly even after a picnic in the park where the likelihood of picking up a tick is certainly as great.

Which HMO paid for the supplies for the deer's treatment. Did the EMS/Firefighters check themselves thoroughly for ticks; Lyme disease is lurking on every deer with ticks, and they all have them. Stop trying to be the SPCA and stick to humans.

You guys are the greatest!!! Saving the life of an animal, which many people could have cared less. They would have said, why waste your time. This is a testament to the compassion that our firefigters exhibit on a daily basis.

Once again, you guys and gals are the greatest!

God Bless and keep you,
Richard

Great job, Fairfax County Firefighters!
It is so pleasant (and rare), to hear positive behavior toward animala and wildlife. By not hestitaing to respond to the need of an injured animal, and expertly providing medical treatment, your team have demonstrated the value we all need to learn, when it comes to the presence of all ceatures in our communities. To those of us who fight to teach these values, and spend endless hours helping injured animals...our hearts are filled with joy that there are good role models out there; our children can look admireably at your staff, and say..."I want to be like that."
Sadly, our young people are being misrepresented by the negative teaching of agencies such as Fish and Wildlife Services, US Dept. of Agriculture, and, even our local government, the Fairfax County Dept. of Animal Control's spokesperson and Wildlife Biologist, Earl Hodnett.
Thank you Fairfax County Fire Station number 12, for having compassion in your hearts, and tolerance in your souls.

carol and deckape why are you two so bitter? Im assumeing a health insurance co. has taken advantage of you, so are we supposed to take it out on the animals? If you were having a heart attack and the only soul around to help you was a veterinarian should he say sorry Im sticking to the animals and cant help this human? oh and fire fighters do not do this job for the money, have you seen a fire fighters salary lately? they do it because they care about life all life ..... I really hope you two open your eyes and see the world in a different light not all people are out for a quick buck, or to take advantage of you, who knows that little deer could have been an angel in disguise and i sure would not want to be the person that just left it on the side of the road to die.....
