My thoughts are: If a new High School is really needed they should have took all the money that was put into making our football field look so good and put it in to the school itself.

Boy , I bet that would have really cut down on the price tag of a new school.

If I'm not mistaken the high school isn't that old as far as buildings go. Wasn't it built in the mid 70's? The last time I was in it, I didn't see a whole lot wrong.

Well , when I went to school there in the 80's, there were buckets down all of the hallways and in the cafeteria and down by the gym to catch all of the rain water from the ever leaking roof and they had to remove a whole lot of abspetos from alot of the ceilings during that time also. Its time for it to go

I would like to see them build a new one with a swimming pool for the kids.

The first graduating class was 1969, IIRC.

Are they really talking about building a new high school? They should put it back downtown where it belongs. That'd be the best thing they could ever do for Reed Street.

Im sure they will do anything to raise our taxes. Maybe they could get the Orscheln's to build it and put their name on it like the building across the street. They also need to take a good look at South and North park schools. What ever they do to them, a turd is still a turd. Totally getting fed up with Moberly and Randolph county.

I went to Moberly High School in the 70s. I was back in Moberly recently and it looks to me like Moberly has done allot of work on their educational facilities. The building is old and a new one is needed. There has been so many changes in technology that a new school is needed.

I'm very ok with this idea! Sell some work gloves and chicken feed in the lobby! Rock on!

I attended MHS in the mid-70's and it was poorly constructed with major problems a few years after it was built. If the community can afford a new school, great. But put a lot more thought into how's it's built before spending millions of dollars.

Moberly tends to spend money on the most frivilous things. How do they think that a new pool, and the new baseball and soccer fields are going to benefit the town. They seem to only build things to benefit the upper class. They talk about city beautification, how about helping the poor and disabled with some paint or something so they can make their houses fit into their (the cities) standards. Then that would make the whole town more appeasing to the eye. After all isn't that what they are after. And they seem to forget that the poor and disabled probably spend more money in Moberly than the upper class. The poor and disabled cannot afford to drive to Columbia or where ever to do their shopping.

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Gemini

Venus and Mars egg each other on, tempting you towards social and sexual excess. You're far too wise to find yourself in bed with a stranger, but keep the alcoholic drinks to a minimum anyway. You wouldn't want to get wild and then realize you've had a one-night stand with the boss's niece or nephew. Avoid iffy situations.
