Fair is going to be at the ballfield

I can't even believe this. HCBA is having their fair at the ballfield. Way to go HCBA, tear up something that doesn't belong to you. Renna sent out emails today informing the people on her list she is having it at the ballfield. What a @#%^$!!

story right she (as in renna) was not the one who announced this she was told to do this because the MAYOR would not sign the beer license for the higbee fair after it HAD been approved by the altermen at a city meeting on june 22,2009 it is in the minutes.

Is this even a serious consideration? You rednecks will ruin the ballfield and a fair because you won't be able to sell beer? Pretty much negates the whole "It's for the children" argument, even though you folks probably have no problem letting the kids run wild in the beer booth.

The higbee fair(along with the city's mazz days) has had the rides on the ball field in town and it does not tear that field up! and as for the beer garden no children are allowed in or around the beer garden. unless you are one of the people who can't handle your drinks a lot of people can drink and not act as a fool. The beer garden is a place for people to sit and enjoy other people that do come to higbee for the fair. hcba is being put up against a brick wall from the city on more things than just the beer garden.why don't you and all the people go to a hcba meeting and get the facts and then talk to the city board to see if all is true instead of getting on here and posting when you really don't know whats going on. all hcba is wanting to do is put on the higbee fair as they have done for years now. alot of people love to come back to this town and see this happen or does the city want to take this away from them?

You are sadly in the dark. This is not based on the "beer booth". It is based on the fact that for the past 6 months HCBA has fought to even be able to just simply put on the fair. When they met yesterday with the Mayor it was clearly stated that to get any agreements signed we would need to make an appt with the city attorney. this could take a long time to get set up. There is only 28 days left to do the fair. The ballfield is the only other option. Don't worry about it's condition. That is up to the member of HCBA to do. Thanks for all of your support though. The fair this year will be a great one!

Has anyone told Mr. deJonge he will have company soon? Where will the people park? Is the highway patrol okay with everyone parking on that highway like that? What a complete joke. I know a lot of people who put a lot of sweat into that ballfield way before this current HCBA or whatever the hell its called took it over and I am sure they can't even believe it. Have you called the insurance company to let them know you changed venue?

If this is really about the kids then resign and let someone who remotely gets along with Charla - yes, you may have to put out an ad -it will be hard to find, run the HCBA. There is an idea. You know there is this bible story about a baby... and the Mother that really cared let it go... Hard to do I know but if you really care... Then you could start your own new club with invitation only members... oh sorry, that is still what is going on now.

I guess HCBA should have planned better. Is it really that poor of an idea to meet with an attorney prior to staging an event like this?

It sounds like your trying to force people to interact with you. I agree that this is in NO WAY for the kids. You've now proved everyones theory that the ballfield would eventually become a part of this fued.

So which HCBA member decided this if it wasn't Renna, because Renna sent out the email. It said Rebecca Campbell reported this, someone who lives in Glasgow decided to ruin the ballfield? How come the current president isn't doing this?

know the younger kids are our future and i don't think that was a very nice thing to say. besides the younger they get involed the better. so you are against the young getting involed with the higbee fair? [The Facts]

The residents of Higbee need to get Renna and her mother and her sister, all of whom do not live in Higbee, out of that organization. Why don't you HCBA members find a way to vote them out, and you might be surprised at the support you get.

I heard the newer HCBA members ask questions, but they never get any answers either.

I'd like to know how one becomes a board member for the HCBA, for instance, it says Eddie Woods is now a member of the board. Was he voted in or how did that happen?

Rebecca Campbell became involved when Rebecca Campbell was called personally by Delores for Charla to set up a meeting between Rebecca Campbell and Charla.

No, sweety, I think what is being said is that you need to tend to Glasgows community, or will they not accept you? Why is it so important to you that you be involved in Higbee's organization? Have you ever tried to join any groups in Glasgow? It is really annoying that people, such as yourself, make arrangements for such events here in Higbee when you do not even have a Higbee address, and are not affected by anything that happens here.

I think a new rule needs to be made that to be a part of the HCBA you must have a Higbee address, at least. This has gotten way out of hand. These women keep causing more and more embarrassment due to their personal control issues.

Is it true that when two certain individuals approached HCBA about using the ballfield to host a softball tournament, not for HCBA or CWP or the city but to raise money and donate it to the school, they were told it would be 200.00 down and 25.00 an hour for lights? If this is true what happened to anyone can use the field anytime they want.

That is what they were told for a previous tournament. Sunday the individual that approached HCBA was told he could use the field, the concession stand and everything out there for the cost of the electric it took to run it. So what you posted above is not true. Go talk to the person that wants the tournment. Where did you get your info? City Hall?
