The editorials in the local paper are hilarious. People act like a whorehouse is opening.

I am a highschool student here in the Valley and I don't think this cruel place should be allowed to open here. This town has always been known for being a family town, and I think putting a Hooters in would be absolutely terrible and I disagree with anyone who would except it in this town. I can't believe it was even thought of, and if Hooters is put here, I will look at my home town differently and so should everybody else! And yes, it pretty much is a whorehouse and should never be excepted!

WTF ever loser. You need to put your focus on passing English class and not worry about having to "except" a Hooters in GJ.

Quick grammar lesson kiddo....you accept people and ideas, except when they differ from your small-town ideals...got it?

Now, back to the subject...my understanding is Hooters is a chain restaurant with reasonably edible food served by waitresses wearing cute and sexy outfits, patronized by customers wanting that.
Other than the outfits, i fail to see a difference between Hooters and Old Chicago, or an of the other chain restaurants in this town...all of which have displaced "family" run establishments. ps:my wife and I really miss Cheers

I think Hooters is a GREAT idea. Many men, in this town, need some decent entertainment. Wives can get to be so borrrrrrrrring, after awhile.

Just think of all of the jobs a Hooters will create for large-breasted women. Like it or not, Hooters is good for the local economy (and good for my libido!)

Hooter's coming to GJ is wonderful. Yet another dining option in town. If you don't like it, STFU and don't go there. Pretty simple.

Think It is great idea and think it would boost the whole area up in junction. Obviously people like you guys that have been stuck here forever do not know what kind of buiness's there are really are in big cities because your stuck in a little town with know where to go and think that hooters would give many girls and ladies the opprotunity for something better.

The "concerned student" just does not understand what Hooters really is and it seems as she has been mislead into a negative perception of the place. My guess is by a woman that could not get a job in a place like that or any other that would require a degree of being attractive. If the new Hooters is built when I come up to GJ to visit family then I will go there. I have been to several in California and there is NOTHING "whorehouse" like about the place at all. They are in over twenty countries around the world as well and they are often sponsors of motor sports events. For the student that has been told misleading info about Hooters. Here is what they are really about.

Hooters? Why not just call it ''Tits''?
Then you could say,'' Hey, lets go to ''Tits'' and eat some chicken!''

Hooters is a great place. People just neet to realize that the human body is not a bad or evil thing, it has been used to signify many things through all time. does anyone wonder why the Us is the porn capital of the world? Here is an idea for you.... The body is not so taboo everywhere else! Maybe these right wingers need to step out of their precious bubble and see what is in the real world. Maybe Grand Junction could become a more prosperous and not so depressing place. For goodness sake.. it is just Chicken wings.

To the concerned student: First of all, pay attention in english class; what you meant to say was that this restaurant should not be accepted, not excepted. Secondly, if you don't like the Hooters restaurant, don't go there.

You may be too young to remember that we have also had strip clubs here. Also, Mesa Theater provides a much more suitable environment for people to go pay for women.

Hooters is a great place to eat!! Some of the best chicken wings EVER!!! IF you don't like the idea of it, you probably have other issues - like weight, self confidence or both; but the real ISSUE is not the restaurant. So REALLY, get over it!! If you don't like it, DON'T GO!! There are PLENTY of others that can not wait to get in there!!! It's just like some of those people who try to stop another great place from coming here to spark the economy!! Maybe Hooters should go to Montrose or Frutia like all the other jobs that our great city sends elsewhere because their buildings are not the right color or some other stupid reason they deem right - can you say "hello 1950's"?!?!

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Leo

If you're going to a festive party or gathering today you'll have a great time. It will be good to see some old faces and nice to meet some new ones. Don't be shy about breaking the ice if you spot someone you'd like to know better, as with Mars in your sign dancing with Venus in fiery Sagittarius, bells will ring and fires light up. Get the last of those Christmas cards out of the way now, so they're not on your conscience.
