This is genicide of children as I see it and it is getting worse and is already out of control. Our solders in the US should be as police and help stop this and stop drug dealers too. I believe in helping children all over the world but our children are in danger here.

The article I read in the Post said the grandma is still in jail, and the kids were returned home to their mother. If the mother has not been implicated in the abuse, that would be normal. The state cannot just take your kids if they don't have any evidence that you mistreated them. If the abuser is out of the home, the kids can return. The juvenile court probably ordered implementation of a family services plan to address the issues of the condition of the home. Rest assured that social services and the court will be involved with supervising this family for a while.

I imagine there is also a protective order that requires the grandmother not to return home. The article does not say that the children were returned to their grandmother.

Also, the article did not say the social services worker did not know why they children were returned, it said she could not say. Obviously, she cannot discuss individual cases.

Maybe Granny should be on the receiving end of what she did to her grandchildren. I agree - let's all see what she looks like -

One still has to wonder why Grandma had them in the first place...
If the "Old Hide" did this to her grandchildren, we can't honestly think she didn't do it to her daughter as well...This type of behavior usually doesn't start at this womans age, and she was savvy enough to utilize the internet, so it's not that hard to figure out...
Knowing this, are they any safer with their own mother?...

I agree that I'd be concerned. Sexual abuse within families typically follows multi-generational patterns. But a suspicion or a concern is not enough under the law to take a child from their parents. If there is no evidence that the mother has abused them, the state has to return the kids. That's just the law.

But people should not assume that simply because the children have been returned for now, no one is monitoring the situation. There is an open court case. The investigation into whether the mother may have been involved or at least had knowledge and allowed it to continue is not over. Caseworkers will continue to monitor the family. The children have been assigned an attorney who represents their best interests. They may even have a court appointed special advocate, which is a community volunteer who advocates for them in court.

I'm not saying there are never abuses or mistakes within the social services system, but they are contrained by the law in when they can remove children from their home. There are judges, attorneys, caseworkers, and other professionals who actually know what is going on who are making the decisions. We shouldn't assume we know better just because we read one article on the internet.

Still, nothing is being said (not that it's any of my business) about why they weren't living with their mother...
There are a variety of possibile reasons, so I'm not judging...Just curious...
And, frankly, it offends me when the Police are admitting to "dropping the ball"...Where's their accountability?...Oh, that's right, they have none...Gotta give it to Boulder, once again...

The Sentinel did publish her picture. I don't know if you can still bring it up, when you go to the site, or not.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
