Let us also acknowlege that most of our Mexican wolves in the area are not vaccinated for rabies although the rule the program is operating under states they will be vaccinated. Last month a wolf was in the Glenwood schoolyard and it was not a vaccinated animal. The only vaccinated wolves are those that are wearing radio collars.
Let us also remember that a rabid wolf will bite livestock wereas most foxes die swiftly and won't bother livestock. Those of you with livestock must be aware if your cattle become ill. Cows do not always display agressive behavior although they may do so. The saliva is to be avoided at all costs.
