Don't we all just love wilderness designation? Isn't overgrowth of timber and brush just wonderful for creating massive water use and huge fuel loads?

I like to hike without having to compete with trucks and ATVs. Don't you? It is not a human right to gain access to any part of our earth. Perhaps Laura would prefer that we built a road to the peak of Everest.
People miss the main point: this fire was HUMAN CAUSED.
Fires that are NOT in wilderness are equally dangerous and uncontrollable. FOREST FIRES ARE DANGEROUS. PERIOD!
Forests are dangerous. Looking for a less-risky place to be? Stay in the city and out of the woods!
Look at the very anti-wilderness Texas: they have had huge fire problems despite having a pitiful portion of their land being designated wilderness. Has it helped them to put out their fires in a timely manner or have they been begging for the help of the federal government to put their fire out?
The forest needs to burn sometimes, plain and simple. However, if people would learn to put their campfires out, smoke in a safe (to the woods anyway) manner, and take other very basic precautions this wouldn't happen! To blame wilderness is just plain ignorant.
