You get some sense from this article that the Miller fire is a disaster, of sorts. But as near as I can tell, this fire is burning pretty naturally and is appropriate in a fire-adapted ecosystem.

It has slowed in growth considerably in the last several days. If it had not been man-caused, the Forest Service would be using it as a management tool, but because of the unnatural igniton source federal law requires them to work directly towards suppression.
