Trying to create a "scandal"? Heck who knows, it is the Daily Times. Maybe they can't find any real stories.

Probably because the Daily Times likes to stir things up. There was an article in the paper several weeks ago about Julie screwing up some money, so now they have to report she's quitting to stir it up again.

I know that since I have lived in Bloomfield, I have seen these changes that Julie has made. I didn't know who was responsible, but they were all welcome changes. It appears she has done more for this town than most anyone else has in the past or present time and therefore I am disappointed to see her go. It seems that this region has a way of holding down people that want real progress, they criticize those with brilliant minds and find ways to keep them down.

I hope that Julie, with her progressive and insightful mindset, decides to stay in the area in order to keep improving not just our town with these talents, but to ensure continued enrichment of the local people.

Thank you Ms. Baird for all of your ingenuity, hard work, dedication, and years of service to my local community.

Just a head's up - It says Longmont, Colorado, because your ISP's server is based there.

Before these comments descend into the cesspool they usually become. You better be careful about negative comments if they are libelous then you can and most likely will get sued.
You may think you are anonymous because your name isn't on your post.
Topix will and has in the past released information about anonymous posters that has led to commenters being identified and sued. They have lost. So don't be stupid. Comment carefully, unless you have over 400,000 sitting in a bank. I recommend you read this if you don't believe.

On a lighter side. We'll miss the hard work that Julie Baird did on the behalf of the City of Bloomfield. Good Luck on your future endeavors.

Julie,

You will be missed... thanks for carrying the city's needs thru all the political mess.
Hope you find better pastures very quickly..
you have much to offer.

sounds like the city manager could use some training in managing people.

I'm sorry to see Julie leave too. I remember when she stepped up to fill in for the City Manager when he left during budget time.

Enjoy the time with your family. Sometimes we give too much to a job that in the end doesn't appreciate it.

This sounds like maybe John Eckley is at it again.
It is common knowledge that he didnt like Julie..She could see right thru John......
If only the new city manager would realize how
worthless John Eckley is.........Julie you deserve
better !!!!!!!!
Sad to see you go

"We've had some really big decisions being made by one person ...Probably more people should be involved," Fuqua said. "I'm kind of big on teamwork and including more people."

Fuqua, Team Player! is that an understatement or what? Well if you don't count inviting the team to NOT come to a CLOSED door meeting so he can axe ur buttget.
Man who speak with forked tongue probably in politics.

First consider this. A certain department head recently received aprox $5,000 annualy so that he wouldn't resign/retire. Really? When the City is reportedly facing a budget shortfall? Then Fuqua and certain elected leaders drive Ms. Baird to resign after she brought in so much federal and state money for much needed projects. But I guess that's all water through the treatment plant. BTW I guess Fuqua doesn't realize that Ms. Baird couldn't have started those projects, applied for grants or expended City funds without the express approval of the City Council. That doesn't sound like she was making decision alone. And another thing, did anyone else pick up on that fact that Fuqua thinks it takes a whole committee and three department heads to do the work and manage the projects that Ms. Baird did? I'm afraid of where the City is heading and what damage Fuqua will do before the City Council wakes up.

Maybe Scott is hiding something he is the one that put Julie in charge.Let's see if Scott wins the next election, probably not, if you cut the salaries and make furloughs there goes your votes. Get rid of John Eckley he is trouble. When you change religion to get what you want.He changed when Johnson was there.

I find it funny how people think Julie has dont such a great job for the city of Bloomfield, but I must remind all of you that she has failed many state audits to get Bloomfield reimbursed for the funds she used for all her projects. Lets be realistic here. She sat on her a** and did absolutely nothing the entire time she worked there. She has no clue how to run a project, shes only good for getting grants for things, and she never ever follows through on getting a single thing done.
