I'm not for blaming bad or strange behavior on a bunch of mental disorder theories at child or teenage levels.
I haven't found that this rationalization "It's not my fault...it's because I have (you fill in disorder de Jour)" helps them grow into fully functioning adults.
Just the opposite. Some of these kids grow up and are still blaming everything on their parents, a childhood illness or therapy session, etc due to this kind of thinking.

Great article. We need more written about mental illness so we can break the silence about this very misunderstood and stigmatized illness. Hopefully this will help bring ,mental illness education into classrooms. Thank you!
