Keyboardist and singer, Leon Russell worked with many top talented muscians and singers back in the 1960's with a group of studio musicians known as the "Wrecking Crew."

This group of studio musicians played on albums by the Beach Boys, The Mamas And Papas, The Byrds, The Monkees, The Partridge Family, The Carpenters, The 5th Dimensio, Jon Denver, Simon and Garfunkel, Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby.

Another famous solo act came from these ranks: Singer and gutiar player, Glen Campbell.

Here is another from Leon Russell.

Hugh McCracken, a popular and sought after studio guitar player, provided the guitar licks to the previous Steely Dan tune....Hey Nineteen....

He did studio work for Steely Dan and a long list of other rock, jazz, soul and pop musicians and singers.

Hugh passed away on March 28 from leukemia. He will be missed. Fortunately, we can still listen to his talented contributions to music in our daily lives.

Another brilliant Hugh McCracken guitar piece......

"It was one of those days, when it's a minute away from snowing, and there's this electricity in the air. You can almost hear it, right? And this bag was just dancing with me, like a little kid begging me to play with it, for fifteen minutes.

That's the day I realized there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know, but it helps me remember. I need to remember.

Sometimes there is so much... beauty... in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in."

If you were born in the 1940's,50's or early 60's, you would remember Annette Funicello as an original Disney Mousekateer and love interest of Frankie Avalon in the campy Beach series movies from the mid 1960s.

She was of favorite of Walt Disney and an anchor for Frankie Avalon in the beach movie series which had fun with the rock/pop era and beach and surf culture of Southern California in a somewhat more innocent time period.

To Annette. RIP
