once you go to jail you give up certain freedoms. i'm more concerned with protecting the rights of the jail employees than the jailee. people who complain saying they won't visit have the right to not visit.

today people use webcams to stay in touch via their computers. i don't buy the argument that prisoners will have a hard time readjusting to people when they get out of jail. i would also venture to say that not getting along with people in society is what got many convicts in jails in the first place.

I completely agree with you. Maybe all these changes will make criminals think twice before they committ a crime. "CRIME" that is the reason why they go to jail, once you committ a "CRIME" what kind of freedom do you think these people deserve? They had the freedom and abused it, now they have to pay the price for it. Do the investigation on how other jails in other countries treat criminals. A criminal is a criminal and will be a criminal unless they themselves decide to get help.

I saw it in Tampa, It is great for the Inmates. They get more visit time. They do not have to wait for movement and they don't have to pat searched after the visit.

I knew a person in the Broward jail, they would get drugs in the jail because when you visit you can go to the bath room, where the visitor would stash some contraband, and guess who cleaned the bathrooms later on? Yup you guessed it, the inmates.

When I was a kid, we were told this....
"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime". It ain't the Holiday Inn. It's jail. It'sot supposed to be fun.

There's over a hundred thousand of our troops, overseas in harms way right now.
Phone & video are all they get.

Something else we were told as kids...
"Tough Sh1t, Chew Harder".

How about no visitation until release. Keep these sewer apes down and hating life inside. This is the ONLY thing you can do to keep them from returning. Civil rights are for human beings not animals..........

Our brave men and women serving our country, and their families would love to be so lucky as to speak to their loved ones via this method. These scum bags should take what they can get, and shut their mouths. Having ANY communication w/ the outside world, be it friends/family etc, is a privilege and not a right.

What an excellent idea. It shouldn't take 2 years to impliment.
It can be one in 6mos or less, just apply the muscle.
It's really all about the contraband, so those who complain, I do understand, but then again, you sort of brought it upon yourselves.
Jail is not a pleasant place to be. Statistically, a small % of the overall population is responsible for the majority of the crime.
The same people getting re-arrested. Hardworking, law abiding people seldom run afowl of the law and they shouldn't have to be saddled with paying for criminal 'perks and pleasantries' that we endure now

Why do we worry about what prisoners or their families think? They are in prison because they are bad people that have done bad things and can't live in society. Prison is for punishment. We give these people heat and or AC, TV and three meals a day. It is a lot more than htey gave themselves when they were in society. Let our prison officials do whatever they need to do in order to keep the prisoners behind bars. That is their job and unless you have had to work there you have no idea what it is like.

It is impossible for a visitor to slip contraband to an inmate due to the barier. All contraband smuggled in is the direct result of scumbag correction officers.

Why don't we follow the example set by Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona?

Why don't we just put hoods over the heads of inmates, shackle the inmates to the walls, give them spoiled, cold food, deny them rights to an attorney, and let them shower only on saturdays?

Oh, I forgot, they do these things to inmates.

You can't chew gum in prison? But prison guards can get blow jobs from inmates! What is this world coming to?

That guy is a nut job. He has an army of troopers protecting his ass for his dumb comments and actions. The Mexican Mafia will get Arpaio someday. Making the inmates wear pink underwear.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Virgo

Someone is being headstrong and wilful, and absolutely determined to do what they want. Mercury is retrograde and it's a Full Moon in Cancer with a lunar eclipse all happening tonight! This could lead to some heated discussions and possibly even rows, as you argue the toss back and forth. It might be best to accept that there's very little possibility of reaching an agreement rather than to get locked in a stubborn battle of wills. Besides, you don't want anything to spoil what promises to be a very enjoyable New Year's Eve. Have fun!
