The Lebanon Special School District told workers last week that they would be contracting out custodial work for the upcoming school year. They will be going with GCA services.

Its a move that is gonna save money for the school system. But not without a potential cost. When you bring in these companies you never know who you are getting inside the building.

- A GCA employee raped a high school girl in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
- A GCA employee in Texas was found out to be a registered sex offender
- A GCA employee in Williamson County was caught peeping on little kids in the bathroom earlier this year
- A GCA employee in Maury County was found out to be in the country illegal and sent back to Texas on drug charges
- A GCA employee in Cookeville was arrested for selling Cocaine

A couple more examples

- A GCA employee in Cookeville found to have a prior statutory rape charge
- Another GCA employee in Cookeville gets charged with statutory rape
- A GCA employee in Texas with a prior burglary arrest on his record gets caught stealing in school

And notes for some of the previous statements

- The GCA employee in Huntingdon that raped the high school girl. Had a prior arrest in connection to a rape charge.
- The GCA employee in Texas that was a registered sex offender was working under a fake name and social security name.

Good luck with GCA. They suck BIG TIME here in Utica Community Schools located in Sterling Heights Michigan. The sad thing is... Even if the administration here wanted for whatever reason to go back to the original custodians.... they can't do it. They are all gone. They may be able to bring a few of them back but the majority of them have found other employment. Trust me when I tell you you need dedicated employees with experience to clean an entire school building properly. There is no way that you can just bring in somebody off the street and have them properly clean a school. It may sound crazy but certain things need to be done in a certain way. Once again I say good luck with that company. You will need it. Oh one more thing make sure you keep all your food products locked up. Stevenson high school had to lock up all their food in the cafeteria for the first time in 40 something years of existence. Does anybody wanna know why? I'll tell you why... It is because many GCA employees will steal anything that isn't locked up. Once again... good luck.... You're going to need it. As for me.....I'm doing well!!!

Hey I almost forgot to mention..... They bring in a bunch of the most unprofessional people you have ever seen. Non-English speaking people are the norm. Please keep in mind.... If the current custodians get laid off... none of them will be just sitting sround waiting to get called back. They will seek new employment. After GCA gets their claws into a school district that district is now screwed. BIG TIME!!! Because when that happens....the former custodians are gone....Guess who gets to call the shots now...... GCA does. PLEASE KNOW.... Although the current custodians will be offered employment with GCA Some will sign up with GCA..... Few will stay. GCA is a private company driven by money and profit. The more work they do the less profit they earn. SO YOU TELL ME.... HOW CLEAN DO YOU THINK YOUR SCHOOLS WILL BE. MORE IMPORTANTLY.... HOW SAFE DO YOU THINK YOUR CHILDREN WILL BE

I don't think they want the parents to know.... The only mention it has got publicly was a single paragraph in the Lebanon Democratat the end of a piece about something else the school board done. This deserves more coverage and for whatever reason the papers in town are looking the other way.

It became official today.

Custodians are not happy.

We were lied to for the last month.

They told us we wouldn't lose paid holidays. We Lost them all.

They told us we wouldn't lose our sick days and vacation days. They got cut back to about 1/3 of what we used to get altogether.

We are now gonna have to pay 2-3 times as much for health insurance that has a much higher deductible and co-pay.

They told us our shifts wouldn't change much at all and that we wouldn't be in the building late night. We are there until 10-11 at night.

We had life insurance through the school. We lost that as well.

They told us when we switched over we wouldn't have to pay for the drug tests, background checks etc. Well its coming out of our first paycheck.

We were told it was gonna be a 1-year contract on a trial basis. Its a 4-year contract.

What's up with company's contracting out .they don't save money .years ago if an employee done a bad job they were fired. The same should go with the contractors. I work at hospital in lebanon for 2 years and it has gone down hill. The only thing clean is hallways.'it all in perception" they say.

Its not so easy to get out contractors if you are dumb about the contract. In this case GCA got the LSSD by the balls.

Its in the contract that if the school system ends the contract before it expires they cannot hire anybody from GCA for 2 years. Well GCA hired what remained of the custodians that didn't quit. So the school board would have to hire a full staff from scratch.

Not only that but part of the contract had GCA getting all the equipment and supplies currently in the school. That means that the day GCA signed that contract they got the scrubbers, buffers, carts, tools, paper towel/toliet paper dispensers etc. for all 6 schools. So if LSSD breaks that contract they will have to repurchase all that equipment again as well.

Its gonna take something major for them to break that contract.

The same exact thing just happend in warren county in Virginia. Gca took over, and we lost everything, sick, holiday pay, insurance went up from 12 to 66 for the cheapest! Plus soo many other things. I want to leave badly.

Well people.... How is GCA working out for all of you? Was I telling the truth? Don't forget to Google...GCA CUSTODIAL SEX CRIMES. Stay on top of this group of misfits. TO THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS.... Keep an eye on how they clean your schools (or should I say lack of how they clean)? Here at Utica Community Schools (located in Sterling Heights Michigan) proper school maintenance is a thing of the past. I have noticed numerous shortfalls in cleaning since GCA Services took over. Lack of toilet paper.... lack of paper towels....dirty windows....filthy desks.....smelly bathrooms... GCA even had to outsource the carpet cleaning becsuse they couldn't do it properly (and it shows too). I've got pictures to prove my point. I know of which I speak. This group of clowns wouldn't know a dust-bunny if it jumped into their laps and called them mama.

Here is the problem. The current school employees are not strong enough to stick together and >ALL OF THEM < say, "GCA, Thanks, but No Thanks! We don't need the job that bad! We are good enough and valuable enough and have the skills and talent to find a job that will pay us what we're worth."

If ALL of the custodians stuck together and refused to go with the company, the schools would be screwed.....and they KNOW it! That's why here in Romeo they offer the head custodians higher pay if they go with GCA. They know the current custodians are needed badly!

I can't wait to see if this company also provides custodians that do plumbing, carpentry, snow removal, work orders, event set up, and all the various other odds and ends the current hard-working custodians do. These custodians don't make enough money as it is for what they do. What a shame the board would do this to fellow community members and loyal employees of the district!
