This department, LPD has devolved into a 3 ring circus.

And a prime example of the lunacy, stupidity and lack of common sense and intelligence that so pollutes law enforcement in this state.

The leadership in in Lebanon Police Department is a joke. Surely they could find one good man to lead the all the children with badges and guns. Hey, maybe they could take some lessons from the Sherrifs office and look before you shoot. Nobody respects the city police and until major changes come, they never will

This article is so biased and one sided. Let's just name every negative thing about the police dept in one short clipped article. Bowen needed to be back in the chief position. There never should have been talk of a change of administration in the first place.

I agree with you half way. I voted for Craighead to avoid voting for Farmer! Neither decision in my opinion was a good one. The mayor is entirely too passive I agree and regularly loses control of the meetings and his position as mayor. He lets Huddleston run all over him sometimes, and then will turn around and bow down to the pressures coming from other figure heads in the community.

But in my personal opinion, Bowen is a good chief if everyone will leave him alone and let him do his thing.

WHEN an innocent life is taken & the mayor does nothing, i lose respect. BUT when Weaks pointed a gun at someones chest "playing around" (whom which happened to be the family of Greg Thompson) and then is reinstated as the police chief for 6 months prior to retiring ... thats INSANITY.

The problems within the Lebanon police department and the things they are doing are deeper than ANYONE knows. But whats done in the dark ALWAYS comes to light. Weaks is a liar. He lied to protect his officers involved in the shooting, One of which was his former son in law. make sense now? he wrongfully stated that drugs were found in the car, but that was merely a cover up planted by the officers, and this is NOT the first time they have done something like this. the whole city is CORRUPT. if they DONT fix it, something bad is going to happen. i pray that it DOESN'T come to that.

I think that I have shown my dislike for the 2 head guys in the Police Department but for you to come up with this idea of the officers or even the top guys planting stuff in this case is a little bit bizzare come on, there are good officers on the force here in Lebanon, and yes probably some shady ones too but come on the statement of a cover up by them even I can not accept that statement, the Police Department had no involvement in the fact gathering part of the investigation it was the TBI and they are no slouches when it comes to gathering of facts , you may be suprised when the findings do come to be known. Like I typed earlier ther are problems throughout the Department and the MAYOR IS THE ULTIMATE ONE WHO SHOULD CONTROL THE ONES WORKING UNDER HIM BUT what can I say blind leading the blind I guess.........

You're right, however; the video from the night of the incident in N0 way matches the story told, and please believe I know someone personally who has had "evidence" planted on them. I'm not denying that there aren't good officers on the force, because there are. But there is a lot that goes on that people D0NT know. But they will, soon enough.

You were right all along we better start listening closer to what you have to say. Weeks and his Troops have killed again.
He must be stopped. Send him over to Afghanistan and send home one of those poor soldiers or send home a Marine. Weeks can clean the whole country out if given a chance.

Just remember that innocent people have been murdered under both cheif's as well as county sheriff and the TBI has turned a blind eye to all that has happened.
