Surely you wouldn't question Willard's dedication to Christian principles would you "Dunlapian" ? Especially after that long list of Bible quotes regarding false prophets that he posted !
I think it is funny that he thinks anyone hates him...hate requires some level of control over the hater...."Willard" is a name on an anonymous web site, and no matter his delusions of grandeur, he has no control over anyone. He does provide a good laugh occasionally though...

Barry Obama has been voted gun salesman of the year. Everytime he makes a gun control speech, gun sales hit new highs. Gun manufacturers have NEVER seen sales this good. Congratulations Mr President.
Oh by the way, please make your next gun control speech in Chicago...... you know your hometown. They kill more there in one year than all the mass murders since 1960 combined. You already know that though.

Social Security is not "broke". There is a surplus in the trust fund and will be for the forseeable future. That surplus is invested in United States Treasuries. Once that surplus is exhausted, the fund can pay out AT LESST 75% of benefits for the forseeable future. Those facts fly in the face of any assertion that Social Security is broke. If "we" can find the money to create a 'democracy in the desert" we can find a way to fully fund the PROMISE made to retirees that they paid into all their working lives. Obama's retirement and the retirement of congressmen and senators is guaranteed....why should the average American's retirement be any different ?
Those who tamper with the formula for benefits for S.S. recipients, both Democrats and Republicans do so at their own electoral peril.

Sassy - it is irrelevant what amount of money SS "takes in" - when the feds take more out. There is no SS Trust Fund in some lock box that the government hasn't put its grubby hands in and spent. Since the 1960's the money taken in, ostensibly put in the trust fund - has actually been placed in the general fund...and spent.

Not a single gun shop can be found in Chicago because they are outlawed. Handguns were banned in Chicago for decades, also, until 2010, when the United States Supreme Court ruled that was going too far, leading city leaders to settle for restrictions some describe as the closest they could get legally to a ban without a ban. Illinois remains the only state in the nation with no provision to let private citizens carry guns in public.

And yet Chicago, a city with no civilian gun ranges and bans on both assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, finds itself laboring to stem a flood of gun violence that contributed to more than 500 homicides last year and at least 40 killings in January of this year alone.

Chicago provides stark evidence that even some of the toughest restrictions fail to make places safer. The gun laws in Chicago only restrict the law-abiding citizens, and they’ve essentially made the citizens prey.

Chicago....a shining example of how NOT to do things. And they want to make this country wide.... Have they learned nothing?

Obama's budget proposal to cut SS, etc. while it appears to be comprimise - is politics.

It is a political maneuver to throw onto the House Republicans popular resentment for gridlock in DC. The cuts in SS, etc.- while appealing to Pubs, are tied to tax increases that Pubs have already said they will not pass. So, lots of condemnation of Obama for caving to the Pubs makes no sense to me, any more than the complaint that proposals to the Pubs never are accepted.

Actually, it's a pretty shrewd political move by Obama - it will be interesting to see if the Pubs agree to the cuts and tax increases...then Obama would have egg on his face. He would have proposed and gotten what no Pub Administration would ever have the nerve to try - starting the dismantling of SS.

Social Security was founded as a quick-fix solution to unemployment by paying off older workers to give up their jobs for younger workers. No net new jobs were created.

Economists call this a zero-sum game, where net gains and losses are exactly balanced. The payment system mimicks the idea of insurance premiums with payments withheld from a workers paycheck.

None of the premiums, however, have ever been invested in a so-called "Trust fund," and are actually diverted into a "pay as you go" system destined for immediate aggregate consumption expenditures.

For example....and this is of particular personal interest...over the years excess withholdings from workers paychecks,(known as F.I.C.A.), have been used to fund government paygo operations such as the Vietnam War.

As we are talking about Social Security...which president 1st put out a proposal to Privatize it?

That evil George W. Bush???

Nah, one William Jefferson Clinton in 1999. Yep! Old Slick Willie himself...advocated during his 1999 State of the Union Address that a small portion of SS could be invested in the private sector, just as any private or State Government pension would do.

George W. proposed the same thing and Dem-Libs get all sideways about it.

Once again...Critical thinking..

The surplus above the amount paid out in benefits to current retirees was invested in United States Treasuries. The S.S. Trustees hold those treasuries.....Just as Communist China holds United States Treasuries. If your assertion were true, the treasuries owned by China and many other foreign countries would also be worthless, yet other countries continue to buy those treasuries even with the historically low interest rates on them. Why ? Because they know that those securities are as good as gold. This is a manufactured crisis designed to convince average Americans that they should submit to lower retirement income, in favor of those who want lower taxes on their current income. That is a bad trade for the average American who can't afford to buy a bunch of congressmen and senators to do their bidding for them, but a great deal for those who can and have.

An interesting and thought-provoking Post. Excellent! It certainly made me stop and think.
Even though I am a Gun Owners Rights proponent, since Newtown I had been an advocate of doing something, even if I didn't like it, to try and stop such tragedies from happening. Now, I'm not so sure that what's being proposed is the right way to go or that it will have any effect at all on the Shooters, except for the expanded Background Checks.
