Would you rather some of this huge talent make ten times the sums they get by working in the film industry or another commercial enterprise. Could you imagine what someone like James Levine could actually make scoring major films versus the sum he know makes working 80 hour weeks at a fee of which is a bargain anyway you look at it.

You don't often hear stories like this. Glad some conductors are willing to make a sacrifice. Better to take a pay cut than face unemployment.
