Not sure, though when I went there to apply for a line cook position I got a pamphlet that indicated they would be opening this weekend.

Also, they didn't give me a call back so the job hunt continues for me...

Things were definatly quiet there...The band was a no show (if they truly WERE booked) and the weather was off for their 1st weekend. The band they have listed for next weekend isn't really playing there either... Maybe that list on the flyer is a wish list and they were hoping some of the awesome bands they booked would jump ship for them?????? Only time will tell.

The Square Pegs were apparently never booked, I hope someone notifies them that they were advertised, because it makes them look bad when people consider THEM a no-show. As far as entertainment, they had a slow night on Saturday because DASHBOARD NIXON packed the Crazy Clam and Classified couldn't play because the owners were stupid enough to build an outdoor bar in Central New York.

The most important part of my post?? UNLIKE THEIR SLEAZY AD SUGGESTS, DASHBOARD NIXON IS NOT PLAYING AT THE HOLLYROCK ON JUNE 26TH and will NEVER play there.. We will, however, see you at the Crazy Clam on July 11th.

Sounds like sour grapes Gary, definately an unprofessional posting. Wasn't Tullio at the Clam Saturday? Interesting fans that you have.

I agree HALZ, its a beautiful place, in a beautiful place. The Fiier that was handed out is a little misleading tho, because most of the bands advertised as playing there AREN'T!!!! They aren't even thinking about playing there because they are dedicated to the local places that have supported them for years. This kind of disceptive promotional practices makes me wonder if they are going to be as dishonest as they were last year with the liquor liscence fiasco. They have a great idea, location, venue etc. and don't need to operate like this to bring in patrons. But it still continues, WHY????? They have a lot of potential where they are, but don't seem to want to earn the business honestly. Most of the local businesses have done it the right way and the LOCALS will ALWAYS be there because of this... Honesty and integrity goes a long way here for the local year round residents!!!!!!!!

WOW: How interesting. There are a lot of year round residents that truly love supporting the local establishments.Hopefully this weather straightens our so we all can enjoy the beach. If Tulio was at the Clam sat nite I hope that it was his last time in public. Concrete walls and coiled barbed wire fences are too good for him.

Yeah, Tullio wouldn't have been at the Clam if Gary was playing out of town. Dumb to throw that in.

No, it's the truth. What's unprofessional is using MY name to try to bring business to his bar when I have made it very clear several times that I will not be playing there. And thank you ABahques, perfectly put. Townie, present yourself?

I agree it did sound unprofessional, or perhaps more accurately-childish. The recurring "present yourself" comment is both childish and somewhat laughable. Under no circumstances are you an impressive physical specimen. As for "bringing business", TMA was great but it looks like that ride is over. I think someone is pretending to be Gary.

He's talking about Dashboard Nixon, which draws HUNDREDS of fans to wherever they play.

I guess I am too long in the tooth to know what draws; I read the band schedule and had not heard of Dashboard Nixon-ergo no connection made. Why do these bands keep changing their names? Is it some type of marketing leverage? Who is Last Call? I though Last Call was once part of TMA; and wasn't Tullio involved with Last Call somehow?

Dashboard Nixon plays a wide variety of music, which is why they draw such large numbers. They are a very good band that appeals to all ages. New bands are formed all the time, some members of other groups may leave one and join another to find a better fit, it happens all the time. I can't imagine that simply changing the band's name would be a good marketing strategy, since, by doing that, they are starting all over again and would be virtually unknown. I haven't heard Last Call, but if Tullio was involved, they probably draw an "interesting" crowd, one that I would purposely avoid!

Googled Dashboard Nixon-first hit was a myspace page. Tullio was listed as a friend on there. I wonder which band member confirmed him? They should take him off. I liked their song selections- I am sure they sound better in person.
