DEADBEATS?!?!? You are such a jackass! These men and women who have poured their lives, blood, sweat and tears into this company are being kicked to the curb simply for momey hungry CEO's of Freightliner. These higher ups only see dollar signs. Why don't they get their sorry a$$e$ out there on the floor and try to build a truck in 8 minutes?!?!? They don't give a damn what they are doing to the thousands of employees that have made them money hand over fist! My husband has been with the company for 29 years. Was is wrong for him to want a decent job and get a honest days pay for an honest days work? These people can barely move when they leave the plant each day. They work hard!!! Walking on concrete all day, climbing in and out, up and down, and all around these trucks while they are moving down a line? Come on now - have you done this kind of work before? I'm sick to death of hearing people trash the union and the money hungry, lazy "deadbeats" that work here. I've seen your posts on topics on these forums. You're just a bitter old person who has nothing better to do than talk about things that you have no clue about. Get off here and let people who matter post!!!!! Better yet, who don't YOU get a job at Freightliner and see how long YOU last!!!! JACKA$$!!!!!

I did work at Freightliner, and the union is pretty much a joke. I joined the union when I first started there thinking they were there to look out for the employees. It didn't take long to figure out they supported the employees that wanted something for nothing more than the employees who were there to work for a living.

Myself and several other employees filed a grievance for "bad time" that was wrongly charged to us. After many months of being put off by our rep. he finally informed us that they decided that it wasn't worth the money, I think around $200.00, to follow through with the process. By my calculations 4 employees times 2 hours pay a month would probably cover that. I personally witnessed many employees "working the system" and the union helping them every step of the way.

I'm sure there are some instances that the union did some good up there but I saw it go the other way a lot more.

I done this type work for 22yrs and didn't cry. I had guts enough to work for my money-----not stand there with my hand out---wanting something for notheing, and crying. Sure the CEO's are makeing money thats why they are where they at. If I had money invested in a company, I sure as hell would want a return on my money.

The union better wake up before its too late. The company has to make a profit. Anyone that thinks a strike is the way is wrong. Take a pay cut to hopefully save your USA jobs. Look at the big picture, cmon!

Well, bully for you for not crying. A big round of applause for you! The only people I hear crying are the ones that want to keep their jobs that they've WORKED AT for all these years. I hear the cries for the ones that have been laid off to be brought back. The only ones that I hear crying are the ones that want to keep our jobs here in America and not shipped off to MEXICO. The only ones that I hear crying are the ones that want what it fair. Is it too much to ask to keep American's working? How many more people, not just Freightliner employees, have to get laid off and end up in the streets before something is done to end all this insanity? People are hurting! The few jobs that may be out there now are jobs that are paying what people can't possibly live on. I hope you are financially set for the rest of your miserable, hateful, sad, pathetic little life. The 128 workers left at the Mount Holly plant bust their a$$es$ EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. to bring home their pay. Not one single American worker can do anything to bring back all that they've lost in the stock market. Most have been putting this money back for years for retirement. Now most, if not all, of it is gone.

Tell me, if you can, how, at the height of Freightliner in Mount Holly, that they were cranking out 150 trucks per day, and were standing their crying and doing nothing? How is that possible?? CORPORATE GREED has slowly but surely greased politician's hands to ship our jobs to MEXICO. This once great company that employed around 2,600 tax paying citizens in our area has sold out. It's as simple as that. The plant has been reduced to 128 workers cranking out 8 trucks per day. These great employees at Freightliner are only asking for a job that pays the bills and allows them to keep a roof over their heads, food in their stomachs, and clothes on their backs. These are people that have families to support. Your posts don't even have any sympathy whatsoever. THESE ARE PEOPLE!!! Are you forgetting that?!?

Tell you what...Why don't you call the plant manager and see if he will let you shadow these workers for ONE day to see what "slackers" they are..how easy they have it..how they're they're crying at their jobs and standing with their hands out for doing nothing? Why don't you do that, you sorry sack of crap; then get back on here and apologize to everybody for the hateful, nasty, ignorant comments that you've made....hmmmmmm?????

The autoworkers have made their career choice , and who can blame them with such wonderful perks ? However , people need to realize that the unbending neck of the union and their workers is going to get bent or broken in the near future . There is no sense in this refusal to do whatever you can right now , to keep your job. Ask the steel workers where their constant no votes got them . Oh , thatís right , you canít cause they donít have jobs anymore !

And we have always made Union wages, had good insurance. The same business as I worked for are out of business, but my boss is still "TRUCKING" We employees are greatiful that he is still in business, and Looking out for us!!!

You know, you're not even worth bothering with. You have obviously not bothered to read my posts. All that you and everyone else on here keep talking about "union" this and "union" that. Not ONCE have I mentioned the union. All I've been concerned with is the well-being of tax paying American citizens losing their jobs due to CORPORATE GREED looking for the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR and sending all our jobs from Freightliner to MEXICO. It seems like every company in America is outsourcing their jobs to INDIA, CHINA, JAPAN, PAKISTAN, KOREA, etc. Is the American Flag still made in America ?!?! I don't know!

Freightliner employees are just a few of the vast majority of people in this country who are losing their jobs due to CORPORATE GREED. This is just the story going on here because it affects us locally. Many other cities across the country are going through the same things.

I'm glad that you were able to feed and clothe your family. So far we're hanging on to that, but a lot of others aren't. Not all companies have unions. It's our government that's selling us out. Obviously you have your life all buttoned up, have all the money that you'll ever need and have nothing better to do than tell everybody else what they've done wrong. So why don't you tell me, Resident, since you seem to have all the answers....how does this country pull itself out of the mess it's gotten itself into?

if u don't like this country LEAVE i really feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs...but again i say they should have planned ahead. No they blew their money on new cars, boats, and things like that. I just tired of reading and hearing about "CORPORATE GREED" I don't have the answers, I wish I did....but I do know that you need to read the Bible....it tell of things like this is going to happon. I don't like sending jobs to Mexico or any where else. But calling it CORPORATE GREED isn't what it is. Most places it's empoylee greed! I've heard Freightliner employees brag about how they have rode the job---and will continue to ride it as long as Freightliner lets them. Freightliner finely woke up and saw what was going on. I feel sorry that you lost your job but he who cry's loudest is useally the "SLACKER" and u are pretty loud!!!!

i think if these corp. co. move they should be taxed 100 percent for importing back in to the us. were the ones they want to buy there products. were the ones who made them what they are. instead of making 100 mill. they only made 80 mill. is that not enough.

We all need to stand strong on this one east and west.. Mexico is a result of deregulation.
