and when these children fail to be successful in school, please remember - it's the teacher's fault and that teacher should be held accountable for their failure and be fired for their inability to teach these children.

what a pathetic story.

It's a family member not a teacher. These kids are old enough to know right from wrong. It's not just the family members fault.

This says allegedly...It not inconceivable that this kid stole the pills from this man and it is also possible that it was legal medicine. Teenagers do this quite often and people put medicines in different bottles. This article did not say that he Gave these pills to the boy. We really need more info here..I wonder if there will be updates.

this mans son stole pills from him about a year ago and took an overdose {xanax} age 14 he should have known better than to leave pills laying around.Tell me why a single father whose responsibility it is to raise a child with standards has pot laying around the house..I suspect he has lost his son now and so he should.. Parents should be advised that if they have teens in the house and they are have pills no matter what they are the pills should be locked away..

Did his son Die? I thought that this was a cousin or nephew or someone like that. Maybe he did have them locked up. As for the Pot it doesn't sound as if he even had enough to warrant more than a ticket. But maybe I missed something. If what you say is true , it makes me wonder even more whether they stole the pills..

no his son didnt die but this is how I feel about the whole mess If I had a child in my home that had stolen pills from me on one occasion I would never leave them out again so that he or one of his friends might get some of them.. The greatest barometer of future behavior is past behavior..I know it is hard to be a single parent because I am one and it takes almost 24 hours a day to stay on top of what your kids are doing but what better way to spend your time ? Children have to be taught from the beginning that actions have consequences.
Whether they stole the pills or not it was still his responsibility to lock up addictive medication especially since there had already been one mishap in his home..

I agree...But we don't know that they weren't locked up..I hope that they update us on this, but I doubt that they will..We never hear the results of these stories.

What does it take for the 13 year old to overdose on Methedone. 2 pills at the least. He got them from the 14 year old it is supposed. The 14 year old got them or stole them from his relative Mr. Fox. I suspect he stole them, without the knowledge of Mr. Fox. He would probably not allow the boy to take them to school. I canít see where LEO found anything that would warrant Mr. Fox being charged with traffic of them. The Methodone was prescribed. The Hydrocodone was not and mixed in with the Methodone as stated. The pot only sounds like it was for personal use, not for sale. The charges all fit if he were a drug dealer. He just didnít have enough drugs to be called a dealer or trafficking, in reality, but LEO can charge it all with little amounts. but it sounds more like the 14 year old did this alone since it is becoming fast knowledge that teens are into these pharm parties and raiding the adults medicine cabinet for any drug they can find and spread them around to their friends. Of course, Mr. Fox is charged with all this, but is he guilty. I donít think he is. He has to pay for what his relative did. The child did not die. Methodone is a narcotic pain medication. If you have teens living or visiting in the house what should be done with your narcs and pot? Lock them up. The only was to stay safe. If the kid had taken Tylenol from Mr. Fox we wouldnít have an article to comment on.
