Why hasn't the Newspaper run an article on this....? Oh wait, don't want to ruffle any feathers with the other Newnanites. This town is run by so many corrupt people. Take for instance, members of city hall denying raises for all city employees until they decide to change the amount they recieve in retirement benifiets to a substantial amount. and also the length of time before they can be eligible. Then they gave employees a 3% raise after they sacrificed for the last 5 years of no raises. Wonders if regular hard working employees area eligible for those benifiets as well? That just city hall...think of all the other people who've been in positions power by being re-elected over and over again.

I think the paper is corrupt too! They only print what they want us to know!! Not all the info so we can decide for ourselves!! Also shame on you Pam Shepherd!!!

Oh definitely...they won't stir up the hornets nest. Everything in this town is run by someone in power to benifits themselves or by someone who is close to those people. I posted this same remark in the sound off several times and not once has it been printed. They want the citizens to believe they have thier best intrest at hand but ehen it comes to them profiting? It always done sneaky and the treat everyone like they are stupid. Example the mayor retired from the city and recieved retirement benifits, he then gets asked to come back. He comes back , makes the city practically run on the cheapest budget so he can be awarded on cuting cost, but to the unkowing he was still recieving his retirement benifits while being fully employed.... some people call that double dipping

Reputable newspapers will not run a public comment that names someone unless they have been convicted or can be confirmed to be under investigation. They also will not report on a story like this unless there is a confirmation by a trusted source that the story is true. Most media outlets have a strong distaste for million-dollar lawsuits.
And, by the way- It was not the Mayor who left and came back several years later. It was the city manager. I would suggest that, if you want to make accusations like those above, you appear be more credible by knowing what you're talking about.

Oh, my bad I got the position wrong, still doesn't change the fact that it happened and that it was illegal. If the paper ONLY reports on facts, then why did they print a report on when you can turn on a red light and later retract it? Your paper gets alot wrong to begin with. It's just a shame that when it comes to the people you rub elbows with, nothing gets reported. Don't want to tarnish the hand that feeds you I guess. BTW I thought journalism was to investigate stories as well

I recently saw on the news where a drug court officer had been selling community service time. S pam here does pretty much the same thing and this is the way we hear about it, I agree, the local news media here in Newnan is about one sideded as I have ever seen.

Sure is Hmmmm but the steve550 feels diffrently. Probably cause he works for them or has a close realtive/ friend working there. I remember a day when newspapers did investigative work to get stories and not sit back waiting for something to happen they could report on. Se Steve felt the need to correct my typo on the position that person took, but did not say a single word about how a city official collected his retirement benefits from the city of Newman, while he was reemployed by the city of Newnan, and collecting a full pay check. How is it legal to collect retirement and be paid full wage from the same employer? Then brag about how he runs the city on a low budget to save the city money. Meanwhile his city employees go without raises, proper equipment, and man power. Then after he leaves the city finally gives it employees a 5% raise for the last 5 years of no raises= to basically a 1% raise, but gives themselves an increase of over 10 in retirement plus shorting the time to 10 years for them to start collecting. Oh and with the employee raise also came a 7% increase in medical insurance.

Lol, TNTH only reports what they or their "friends" want! Omission of the facts is also lying! It's a fact she was fired and nothing in the news, it's a fact a friend of mine killed hisself, but paper only said he was found dead, no other info, highly respected family in town!! That's how it works here!

I know Mrs. Shepard personally. She has helped my son through this program and I have NEVER seen her do anything dishonest. The people making complaints against her are in jail for failing their drug test . If there was ever anything done for her personally it was because the person volunteered . IF there was EVER anything done that was not on the up and up we never witnessed it. She gave her hear and soul to that program and Coweta County once again lost out in the end .

Oh Please!!!!!!!!I am sure she wouldnt have been fired if she wasnt up to no good. Free upgrades to her home for nothing? She isnt going to be fired for doing an honest job, I am glad she was able to help your son, but she was trusted to be honest and failed the people she was supposed to serving in this county. Coweta County will be better off without her.She was dealing with criminals did she think she wasnt going to be caught?

I think each and every one of you should put ypour name on here so I can sue the hell out of all of you. I was not fired. I was not above the law. No one and I say no one ever got a way with anything on my watch! I paid for services from companies just like everyone else did. I can name other people in the community that had work done by the same businesses. You really need to know your facts before you know accusations. Everything and I mean everything that went on was immediately reported to the judge in charge at the time. I was told 2 years ago drug task force team would close drug court down, they still did not exceede, the only difference now is people are running amuck, getting for crimes to be your little CI's, and no one there knows what the hell they are doing. So, before you want to run your mouth about facts you do not know about, you should really ask someone other than an addict with a new crime looking at time and trying to get off. It was not my secretary or clerk that rented a home, I received calls nights and weekends from my superior telling me exactly what to do. I am not the one you need to be questioning. Please by all means tell me who you are? Sincerely pamela Shepherd

Ms. Shepherd did resign her position because her integrity was called into question. Fact. Ms. Shepherd has helped my family along with 100's of people in this community you are unaware of. FACT
Ms. Shepherd was given a hefty sum to leave things alone (my opinion keep her mouth shut)(seen the resignation letter and check) Fact
Ms. Shepherd continues to help those that need any kind of help. Fact
If you knew her, you would know her integrity should never be called into question, she is what you see, her worst fault is her best, she says what she thinks and only knows truth. Fact
You hope you can become half the person she is! FACT

No one has never ever done Community Service at my home. Anyone who says they did is a liar. Never ever!!!!!!!!!! speculation, opinion, and wisful thinking is not truth! If anyone has truly said that; bring them to me, they are a liar!!!!!!! As I understand it this accusation was made by someone I had just caught doing all kinds of illegal activity but I would be gone for 2 weeks, conference and first vacation in 2 years, I confronted this person day I left, gave them 2 weeks to decide how they would talk about what they had done in court. I come back to this accusation from someone who has never ever been given Community service for any reason. They had not been caught on anything to get it. This person is known for lying and avoids me at all costs. Please people before you burn and execute someone make sure you know the truth, not gossip, not someopne else's opinion, and surely not a psychological liar. Do you do this to all people? This is how you treat your fellow human being. Not to mention whoever posted thoase comments as me, plese stop. I am Pamela Shepherd, get a life!

Doh, your credibility has been flushed down the toilet as crap should be. You obviously know nothing about positions in government. The City Manager is appointed by Council which the Mayor is part of. By being appointed by Council they can also fire, accept the resignation of and accept the retirement of the City Manager, they are his/her boss. If the City Manager earned the retirement he or she collects then it was earned no matter their job status. If Council rehires a former City Manager to help straighten out a city then they are going to pay them. The retirement is earned for past employment and nothing is illegal about it. Would you work at Wal-Mart and not get paid for working there because you were already drawing retirement from Wal-Mart?

Ms Sheppard, Please take a little friendly advice. The person that is attacking you on here is only trying to get you upset and get you to say something they can use against you again later. Do not satisfy them with a response!!! If there is a question about what happened leading to your termination/resignation, an investigation will be done. Until then, rest assured these people only want something to complain about and are not willing to put a name with it.
