I figured out where the landscape budget went. Take a look at the common area at the intersection of Brightling Lane and Fairway Drive. A whole lot of landscape mullah was spent there. Other plant options could have been used for far less money. I believe this to be another example of mismanaging of funds.

Are you ignoring the possibility that the tape is part of a painting project that was delayed by rain?

The agenda for tonight's board meeting lists "Outstanding Fines" of $3375. If the association isn't enforcing covenants, where are these fines coming from? The agenda also has a bunch of statistics on types of violations and violation letters sent.

Your point is less than valid. Having volunteered my time on a committee many times before and working with this pm I have no faith these numbers are accurate. Please refer to the post some time ago that identified a huge accounting error by the pm. If I recall, residents of a certain neighborhood paid for landscaping along with their HOA assessments. It was the job of the pm to manage and administer the contract and payment with the vendor. One day several residents received very large outstanding bills. I recall one being in excess of $1,500 because the pm and her creative accounting skills hadn't been billing residents properly. This consisted of several years’ worth of back payments. So you expect us to believe and have faith in figures the pm provides?

Questions – this dollar amount you quoted, how much is current and how much is past due or carry over from previous budget year? How much is legitimate and how much is show?

What was the number of violations? Was the number 60 or 65…I’m a little hard of hearing. If that’s the case that represents just 2% of SG . If you expect me to believe that 98% of SG is in compliance I have an oceanfront time-share in AZ I’d love to offload.

Bill – you can quote numbers and figures all day long, the bottom line is your fellow board members and the pm are not doing the job that needs to be done. You are more concerned with finding excuses to not do your job than you are actually doing your job.

To comment on your post about the 275 Highwoods, I’m not ignoring the possibility of the blue tape being part of a painting project because that simply makes no logical sense at all. They have two separate garage doors. The doors appear to be the white, aluminum carriage doors. Only one door has the blue tape. If they are attempting to paint the doors why doesn't the other door have tape on it? The taped door does not appear to be in need of painting, but I could be wrong. The tape job appears to be haphazard thus not in a manner conducive to a paint job. What other excuse do you want to offer up? This is exactly what Wikki mentioned yesterday. People want to offer up excuses for everything. Excuses for this violation, excuses for that violation. What about the excuse that people are just lazy?

Here’s a suggestion, don’t sit around and not send violation letters because in your mind you have three different excuses as to why that violation exists. Instead, send the violation letter to start the process and let the resident or homeowner respond.

Ponder this, what would be the state of our society if law enforcement and the judicial system gave excuses why they shouldn't do their jobs?

Good point. There's more plants and foliage in that small area that all SummerGrove entrances put together! How much is it costing us to irrigate that small oasis?

Ponder this...even IF the first violation letter is sent, we know how many weeks they have for correction. The real question is FOLLOW-UP. Simple task. Not being done.

Inaccurate data is worthless. Anyone can conjure numbers. Irrelevant data.

Ask the pm to prove these figures and watch the tap dance around the sombrero begin!!

Ima Lawyer and Whoop,

I feel so sorry for you. You are not as all knowing as you think. Yes, what you say about the pm is very true as well as much of the board, however you don't attend the meetings or volunteer to help anymore. You complain and b@#$ and moan---so move then! Get on with it already! Be free of all this stress! Oh, but that's too much trouble. It's easier to log on this website and fire off a zinger every once in a while than to clean your home, get it on the market, look for a new one, negotiate, pack and unpack.

Tell me oh, wise ones--where is better in our area? Where?

Ahhh, but, at least you both are confident and don't realize your own cowardness or laziness.

To Feel sorry for you – I don’t need your pity. I don’t claim to know it all as you profess I do. I don’t recall making that claim, but thanks for the accolade. I’m glad you agree with my observations of the ineptness of the pm and board. I don’t recall saying I didn’t attend the monthly meetings. But even if I didn’t attend the meetings does that mean I can’t voice my opinion? I own a house in SG. I have a right to voice my opinion about whatever happens in SG good, bad or ugly.

I have stopped volunteering my time. Go to a landscape meeting and attempt to question the actions of Lana and Cindy. You wouldn’t go back either. Go to a social committee meeting and offer up new and different ideas. Watch and listen to the reactions of a certain few….you guessed it, you wouldn’t go back either. Go to a modification group meeting; ask the chair why he decided to allow that change that seems so odd and out of place to everyone else……yep you guessed it you get a big ole attitude and you won’t go back. Nobody in this POA likes to be questioned. No one likes to be held accountable for their actions. No one likes to have to answer for their actions. If you have nothing to hide what does it matter? Haven’t you ever heard that smart people ask questions and that the only stupid questions are those not asked? Read between those lines.

That’s a stupid comment…..”So move then”! You’re right, moving is difficult. You have never read a single post where I have complained about the quality of life or SG as a place to live. My complaints are not about SG. My complaints are about the people running SG. I may have complained about the condition of neighborhood monuments or the carelessness of our staff and the lack of covenant enforcement and things like that but again that goes back to a severe lack of leadership and property management, its property mismanagement. I think SG is a great place to live, but I loathe the decisions the people in charge make because it won’t be too long before SG is NOT a great place to live. You should not be able to tell the age of a community if it is managed properly, but a mismanaged community will show its age. A well managed company is successful. A mismanaged company is short lived.

This may come as a surprise to you but I don’t like President Obama or his policies. I have the right to speak out against him. Because I voice my disapproval of him should I move to Mexico, Canada or France???? See how stupid your comment about moving is. There is no logic in that comment.

I guess I could say the same thing to you. If you don’t like what is posted here and what I say, move on…stop reading it. You are the one making the decision to log on, scroll to the last page and read the current posts.

Oh, and by the way who’s the coward? Is your real name “Feel sorry for you”?

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

If you don't like reading my rants and raves stay off this site. I too own a home in SG. That's my ticket to complain. My assessments are paid in full and I have no violations. Our b@#$ and moaning has opened a lot of peoples eyes to the type of people sitting on the board and in the TownHall. Like roaches, when exposed they scurry.

According to the latest Budget and Finance Committee report on the website, year-to-date income from fines is $675. Either these numbers are correct, the treasurer is conspiring with the PM to falsify the numbers, or the PM has pulled the wool over the treasurer's eyes. Given your attitude about such things, I'll guess that you'll pick one of the latter two possibilities.

If those numbers are correct, that shows a definite follow-up on covenant violations.

Why do you call out names? What's YOUR name? Post your name. We know who you are . Enough of this. You have great knowledge and it's obvious. Just comment, that's what the forum is for. Many of your statements seem correct. Continue on that path for a change. Now, what's your take on the upcoming election? Who is out and who should be in?
