Yes, Skeptic. Haven't been on in a while. While their have been many improvements, still a few to go and keep it moving in a positive direction, I hope.

Has anyone been reading the SGrove Issues forum on the webpage? The latest pretty much tops it all. The forum is "After the Yard Sale." Some residents want to know if a huge dumpster can be put in a location on property for several days so everyone can dump what was not sold. Now, they want to dump belongings on the curb for pick-up. YOU BUNCH OF LAZY PEOPLE. GO PACK YOUR CAR, TRUCK, OR CALL AND HAVE A CHARITY COME PICK UP YOUR UNSOLD BELONGINGS. WHAT IS THIS? WE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE ONCE A MONTH "DUMPSTER" DAYS IN SGROVE. JUST A BIG FREE FOR ALL. CAN'T YOU JUST SEE THIS? PEOPLE DUMPSTER DIVING FOR YOUR UNWANTED CRAP. GET REAL PEOPLE. DO IT YOURSELF. GET OFF YOUR COUCH AFTER THE SALE AND MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS.

I've been by there several times but I still don't see them. Are they in the center island? If so, how far are they from the gazebo? If not, are they near the east or west "monument"?

<quoted text>You don't say! The pm was able to get 88 letters out for the entire month? Why that's only 4% of the SG population. So I guess that means the other 96% is in compliance? Hardly. There are 88 homes on Hunterian Lane that deserve landscape letters.
Skeptic, you pointed out why SG is going the way of our delusional friend in Carrollton. 44 of those 88 will pay a lawn company to spray for weeds a single application just to get the pm off their back. The other 44 has it figured out all they have to do is cut the weeds and that will get the pm off their back. A second and third round of letters will never see the light of day. These are the homes that will again be weed infested next year. The hole circus will start over.
If the board will just take enforcement seriously they will end up saving money. They won't have to pay the pm to do the letters and they will save on postage.
Skeptic - do you know why the board doesn't seem to take covenant enforcement serious?
I see you are still not happy where you are!

Are you all asleep? It's been many days since the lawn of that first house at the west entrance to SummerGrove was cut and, so far, not a peep out of any of you. Aren't improvements worth a comment?
Are you serious? Did you really post that? Did you really use your "out loud" voice? I cut my grass yesterday! I don't expect my neighbors to pat me on the back for it. The mailman delivered my mail Friday. I didn't call today to thank him/her. There was water in the pool yesterday. I didn't call and thank the board. Isn't it the job of the POA to do such things? The POA is suppose to enforce our covenants and by laws. They keep up the common areas and amenities. They pay the bills and keep the association running. I guess I missed the memo requiring us to provide applause each time they do their job.

It isn't often the POA or the PM does their job or does it properly. So I guess positive reinforcement is what is needed to keep them rolling in the right direction. it's one lawn. There are many, many more. This one is fixed for now, so move on to the next.

I have decided Skeptic is a board member.

Hmmm. Okay. I’ll bite on this one too. If you want to label my speaking up, speaking out, exposing ignorance and questioning ignorant decisions as not happy…..knock yourself out.

Let’s face it the majority of people in this community couldn't name a single board member. They couldn't name the PM. They couldn't name the property management company. That’s the way all these folks like it. When “those meddling kids” get involved people all of a sudden have to be accountable. The board does not like to be held accountable. The PM doesn't know what the word means and the management company is still trying to figure it out. Google CMA reviews. Be sure to overlook the bogus reviews made my employees incognito. They are the ones with the excellent rating. The most recent former board members have a hard time with accountability too.

I shouldn’t have to apologize because I see things differently. If the covenants say no weeds, shouldn't the board enforce it? If the covenants say jump, the board should jump. Instead our board asks why? This whole enforcement thing is lost on them.
The current board president uses words like “streamline” and “cost effective” and “time management” to lull us into thinking he has our best interest at hand. In fact he has his interests at hand. They all do because no one questions anything. No one questions a decision. Everyone sits on their thumbs and nods their head back and forth in agreement with a stupefied look on their face. Don’t believe me? Pay close attention the social chair at the next meeting.

The board has attempted to streamline meetings to their own advantage but they have everyone thinking it is for our advantage. Has anyone ever thought why they require questions to be turned in 48 hours in advance of the meeting? Why do they need 48 hours? My guess is like the previous president they need time to formulate a bogus answer.

This is the way I look at it. There are 7 board members, 1 PM and about 6 or so committee heads at a meeting and no one can answer a question without 48 hours notice???? What happens when a quick decision has to be made? Are these people not capable of thinking on their feet? This is their way of keeping us out of their hair. We get feed up with the politics and red tape and we go away. Why bother? It’s too difficult! But when we question their ignorant decisions, their lack of compliance, their questionable spending, or motives we get labeled as complainers or being unhappy. Its called transparency and accountability.

To respond to your comment, yes I am unhappy with the people spending our money, making ignorant decisions that affect my lifestyle and property. Call me unhappy. These people wouldn't know transparency if the Town Hall was made of glass.

Oh and hey, Social Chair, Cindy, PM, Harley, Bill, Jim, Bill, Kris, Gene, Scot, and Richard you know what they say about people that live in glass houses!!!!

Just read in the Times-Herald that the city has approved a second entrance for the Centre for Performing Arts and new multi-use complex. Does anyone have any info on the layout?

I would not put it past our board to offer up the second entrance to connect Highwoods Parkway in SG. A current board member has advocated a similar project in the past. Would be just another ignorant board decision.

I understand that a landscape company other than NatureScapes has been allowed to do work on the Parkway. That blew my socks off when I heard that Estes was awarded the contract. What must have happened? As long as Lana and Cindy has a say so I figured NatureScapes was the lifelong landscapers in SG.

Or has the board finally realized the amount of money being wasted year after year, contract after contract with NatureScapes?

Who cares? Who...cares? Do you care that money was spent unnecessarily to make the Parkway look wonderful? Try this on for size. Your opinion is the Parkway already looks wonderful, then maybe you need to question your board and your landscape committee to find out why they found it necessary to spend thousands of our association money to do more work on the Parkway! Why fix something that ain't broken? You say its wonderful and they just contracted with Estes to do more work on the Parkway.

The point to my comment was this group of people has already wasted and thrown away thousands and thousands of dollars over the past few years to retain a landscape vendor (NatureScapes) for no legitimate reason. No one, and I include Cindy, Lana, and all board members, has ever given residents an intelligent answer as to why SG continues to keep NatureScapes when there are clearly other qualified vendors that are cheaper. In fact, other vendors submitted much lower bids and for some insane reason Cindy and Lana continued to go with NatureScapes. Why? I feel like that money was wasted.

A current board member even penned or typed an email a few years back stating a vendor issued a bid 60k less over the life of the contract and NatureScapes was still awarded the contract by Cindy and her flying monkeys.

Then Cindy took it upon herself to go against protocol and award a new 2 year contract to NatureScapes without even entertaining other bids. Keep in mind this was done before the contract even expired or was up for renewal. Her comment was that she was afraid the new board would not renew the NatureScapes contract. What was she afraid of? Why the need to protect NatureScapes? This was a complete show of ignorance and financial irresponsibility I believe. Other vendors could have been retained and the association could have saved a lot of money. Our current president agreed with that ignorant decision.

So folks, as you drive down the Parkway and Ooh and ahh over the Parkway beauty and wonder just remember how much of your money went into that beauty and wonder. It could have cost a whole lot less.

Who cares that our association wastes money! Who cares that our board is full of morons! Who cares our board doesn't think past their noses! Who cares how much money it took, as long as our Parkway is wonderful! Who cares the rest of SG looks unkempt......the Parkway looks wonderful!!!!!

Will you think its wonderful when trees along the parkway are removed to allow more sun to reach the grass and plants? You either get fewer trees or less grass. Can't have both! No need to spend thousands of dollars though.

Well, sorry, but some of the trees will need to be removed. It should have been every other one. Just like any other commerical property or new subdivison/common grounds, the landscape budget wants big NOW, they don't care how much $$$ is spent.

Go back and read the previous 400+ posts. The election process for the board is severely flawed. If you do not share the idiotic ideas of those in power you will not be elected to the board. Just ask the hat lady and all the other candidates from this past election. It has long been the assumption of many that the election process is not 100% transparent and the moronic group that left and the yahoos there now have proven that assumption to be true.

Candidates that have been involved with the HOA for many years were rejected. Others who had never stepped foot in an HOA meeting were elected. GO FIGURE! Those that were elected were personal friends of the out going prez or were less of a threat to the pm.

The HOA/POA board is an elected position. You just don't join. The landscape committee is run by two of the most egocentric individuals. One of which is the former prez. Unless you agree with these two people on every position, your thoughts and ideas are crap. Been there, done that.

They have yet to explain why NatureScapes continues to be the landscape vendor for SG year after year and the board continues to agree to their escalating contract fees.

I'm not against the parkway looking nice. What I am against is the continual poor decisions of the board and landscape committee. They believe there is an endless pot of money to do their own pet projects. Select another vendor that will do the work for less money. Stop wasting our money. Put your egos aside and do the right thing and do what's best for SG.

I heard that the board was going to offer your property to the city to condemn to put a street through!

Yeah, that's just a wild idea that occurred to me, like many of the other posts I read here. Isn't it fun to make up things?
