It’s a sad commentary when board members, past and present, feel the need to “protect” the association’s pm and management company. My first question is why do they feel they need to protect anyone?
If the job is not being performed to standards and their best is mediocre at best we should get rid of them, not protect them.
As with any contract I hope there is a cancellation/termination clause executable by either party. On the other hand Cindy’s group renewed the contract so I’m sure we are locked in solid for two years.
There have been numerous problems with cma and the pm over the years. Why do we continue to allow incompetent people to run this association? Do any of you realize things could be SO much different?
I’m certain either or both of the Hennings read this blog and they really should be ashamed.

I have purchased 3 homes in summergrove to rent as section 8.The homeowners cannot stop me because section 8 is a federally mandated program.IF the board tries to stop me the federal government will sue them under race discrimination laws, you cannot discriminate against housing. They have no choice.

Sec 8 Dude - Why are you concerned the board will do anything? Haven’t you read this blog? We cannot get the board to enforce our very own basic rules. Do you really think they will bother you?

When your Sec. 8 properties fall into disrepair the board still won’t bother you. They may send you a few letters. If chose to ignore them they will too. When your Sec. 8 tenants leave their non-working vehicles on the street or parked in the grass, no one will bother you. When neighbors complain to the POA about your Sec. 8 tenants and how they are a menace to the community, the board will look the other way. When your Sec. 8 tenants show up at the pools without current credentials just remind them to complain to the pm and the pm will give in and allow them full access to any and all amenities. When you or your Sec. 8 tenants fail to pay the annual assessments for each of the 3 properties the board may blink. On second thought they may just go ahead and right off that debt ahead of time as a courtesy. Be sure to inform your Sec. 8 tenants to run for a position on the board. They will be welcomed with open arms. Since your Sec. 8 tenants are conditioned to collecting freebies, they should appreciate you telling them they can become a SG pool monitor and be paid tax free. They may not even need to be a homeowner, resident or be current on their association dues.

You and your Sec. 8 tenants have found a very conforming community here in SG. Too bad Cindy is no longer on the board; she would have had a ribbon cutting ceremony in support of your achievement and even baked you a delicious cake.

WG you are wrong on so many accounts above. Are you really privy to what exactly is sent to residents/homeowners or showing credentials to access our pools, etc.? REALLY? Some of your observations, may be true. I think at times you get yourself worked up a bit. Check with your Doc for some meds to help mellow you out a bit. Sometimes you go overboard,(this will surely have you typing about property values, etc. as you have done in the past. blah blah blah...just copy and paste, it will save you time.) Since you are so unhappy with the association, why not put your house up for sale this spring and move before YOU have a section 8 house beside you.(Sometimes that is NOT such a bad thing.) Maybe you need a slice of delicious cake and a cup of coffee.

WG, this is an example of you going off the deep end. Look at your last sentence. You talk about the past board/present, using names. OK..but to type obviously residents/homeowners names? If you wish to comment and list homeowners names, then TYPE your name after your post. Fair is fair. Then again, that's not quite your MO.

You really are clueless. Where did I list homeowner/resident names??? Are you talking about the Hennings comment?? LOL

Please, get down off your pedestal. The Hennings (father and son) own cma. cma is SummerGrove's property management company. Do your homework. Know what's going on. Get a mitt and get in the game.

You referred to me as Chuck. I don’t know Chuck so should I be offended or flattered? I’m guessing my comment about the social chair prompted your response.

I don’t quite understand your comment about credentials. I was just mentioning the fact that if one of the Sec. 8 tenants showed up at a pool and didn’t have the appropriate swipe card to gain entrance then all they would have to do was complain to the pm and the pm would waive the process and grant them entrance. Everyone else would have to wait to get their assessments up to date and then they would gain entrance to the pools. Basically a double standard. The exceptions seem to be the rules here.

Why don’t I move from SG you ask? Easier said than done. Ask the social chair. He seems to have a large number of homes on the market for many months.

Why should I move because idiots run the association? This was our retirement home. It’s turned into an insane asylum. You must be satisfied with the association. You must be satisfied with poor decisions, poor management, poor fiscal management, and lack of commonsense. You must advocate residents being bullied by the board. You must enjoy paying higher assessments due to idiot decisions. You must enjoy watching the board treat residents like second class citizens simply because something was questioned. You must support board members with personal agendas. You must support a pm with poor time management habits and poor work ethic. You must be the social chair.

if a section 8 tenant shows up at the pool first thing , I would let them in if you do not want to be on national tv.whats it going to hurt other than some afrosheen in the pool? if a section 8 tenant shows up and their card doesnot work, they are going to jump over the fence.Do you want jesse jackson and the fake reverend al sharptongue at your apartment because some black child wasnt allowed to drown in your pool?
