Why didn't we hear about this missing teen in October???
Where has he been??? There is an unsolved murder of a high school student, and yet I see children running around by themselves in Summergrove. Surely someone knows something about this senseless death! I hope whoever did this can't sleep, eat or function until he/she/they are brought to justice. Hopefully someone that may have information will have the courage to step forward to contact the authorities.

Agreed with Solve It. Never heard anything about a teen missing, until his body was found.

I am Blakes aunt, and we want nothing more than the person or persons responsible brought to justice. We too wonder why the police did not do more in the beginning. We ask that anyone with information please contact the Newnan police. They can remain anonomus, we just want who ever is responsible off the streets before this happens to someone elses loved one. Thank you

Ok, I just don't get it. An adult employee of BOA goes missing and his car is found, and it is ALL OVER the news. Here, we have a 17 year old child go missing and the FIRST I hear of it, they are pulling his body out of creek in my neighborhood 9 weeks later. WHERE THE HELL WERE THE PARENTS?!?!?!? I do not mean to be an insensitive jerk, but I really don't get it. If, God forbid, I was put in a similar situation with my daughters I would tear the neighborhood apart looking for them. I would be knocking on every door in Summergrove, there would be missing posters on every tree, stop sign or stationary object. There would not be a single soliaty soul in all of newnan that did not know what my girls looked like or that I was looking for them. If someone had taken them they would be sprinting to the cops to turn themselves in for fear of me finding them first!! Why weren't there pictures of his face on every street corner? Why wasn't his face on the front page of the local paper? Why is this not being covered DAILY in the local news? For God sake this web site is more concerned about Gay marriage than this child. What am I missing? The paper said he was having troubles in his life, were those at home? Kind of makes you wonder when there are no fliers, no noise, nothing going on looking for him. Does anyone his family besides Tonya and Chris care?

It's a shame what happened to Blake. I remember our middle school years together... Everyone love him. Never would I have imagined things turning out like this. I think about him a lot, and how his family must feel. They must have broken hearts and feel very unsettled, because the killer is still out there, an there is no reason for this to have happened. He was such a happy boy, and he made all others in his path smile too. He is now in Heaven, where he belongs. Blake is Gods right hand man, and I want peace for his family and friends. We will never forget you!
RIP BLAKE TYLER CHAPPELL

Although I do agree about the coverage of this case, I do believe his parents care. They may be too upset to show it, but how could you not care about someone like Blake? I lost my other friend Devonte a few years back, and at his wake, his aunt (caregiver) was not crying or anything. She acted as though it was another day at the office. I just don't understand how the news can cover a cruise ship for weeks on end, but a murder in a high-end neighborhood like Summergrove, goes unannounced.

What happened to this young man is a tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. To the rest of you posters....The fact and reality is that kids of Blake's age go missing all the time. 99% of of kids Blake's age either have some in home problems, they're problem children, or they leave for some other reason that no one knows about except them. I get so tired of people in summergrove saying and acting like they could have prevented this or that other people are not doing enough because of what they would've done. Summergrove is not an elitist community by far. So far two murders have happened there in the last 4 years, that's probably equals half of the murders recorded in Newnan. A man was caught masturbating outside the BP station in broad daylight..I was there when Newnan police caught him...I read recently a man was arrested with a large quantity if marijuana in the house. So instead if being on your high horse and expressing it on here, why don't you say kind words of encouragement to the family.

I'm not sure who you're talking to, but I hope that wasn't directed at me.Just because kids of our age go missing all the time doesn't make it right, so I'm not sure why you had to tell us about people getting arrested for weed and whatnot. The people on here care about him.

Ava, your comments about Blake were very sweet and heartfelt. I did not know the young man and from all that I have read he was a good kid and did not deserve the evil end that came to him.

As for “ok enough” I am not sure what teenagers you are around or the kind of kids that you have, but 99% of all teenagers do not run away or have major issues. So maybe you need to take a look at who you or your children are around. As far as the high horse, elitists, comments are concerned, what planet are you on? If you wish to bash Summer Grove, go to the “Cow Patty” blog. Those who often accuse others of being elitist or stuck up are often suffering from their own feelings of inferiority.

The issue is not the neighborhood, but the lack of awareness of Blake’s disappearance and the apparent media blackout. I go back to my original post: Where were the parents in the 9 weeks he was missing? Where was the media? Where was law enforcement? Why didn’t we ALL know this young man was missing?

Ava none of my comments were directed towards you or anyone that posted a positive comment about Blake. I apologize if it came across that way.

Angry: according to the FBI stats, out of a 152,000 juveniles reported missing, 2,000 of them were considered to be in danger. Now 2,000 is alot, but when you do the math it equals out roughly to 1-2%. That means the other 98% are for reasons I mentioned in my original post.

As far as my other comments, just about every negative comment I've seen thus far has been from a resident of Summergrove. I read in the paper one resident say " If the residents of Summergrover were informed about this, we could've prevented it" and "Where were the parent?" Then your comments about the parents, law enforcement, and what you would have done if it was your child are, like you said, insensitive. The only questions everyone should be asking is who the person or persons that committed this act are and why is no one coming forward with information.

Ask yourself this: As a parent that just lost your child, how would you feel to read those things? Especially when the first thing people question is what and where you were.

Thank you for clarifying that up. I believe that Blake was an innocent victim. Everyone may go through some rough patches in their home lives, but if you really knew Blake, and that was the case, you would know he was strong , and smart in the sense of handling his business. They believe he was murdered by someone of which is still out there on the prowl. A sick minded person would do something so hanus to a person so sweet and determined to success in life. Blake brought joy to everyone in his presence, and i can rest peacefully until his family gets justice.

I understand what you are saying believe me. I live out of state and we posted on every web site avalible the information about Blake. His mom did just what you said in reguards to knocking on doors ect, but in the beginning he was considered a run a way for what ever reason! Why flyers were not done, I can not answer. But I must say I agree more could have been on on both parts police/parents. But keep in mind there have been threats made and other circumstances that can not be discussed. He came from a family that loves him and have been trying everything possible to find whos responsible. Not sure where people get the information he was having problems, thats NOT TRUE. This child went to a school dance and never made it home the next day after staying at a friends. He was a smart, happy, sweet kid that never deserve this. We will contine to demand justice. The Police should have done much more in the begining, but for whatever reason obviously thought it was not important. Just know that the person/persons respomsible are still out there, and until the are apprehended no one is safe. If they can kill a child, they obviously have no fear! We will have justice. I will never rest until my Nephews murderer is cought and is brought to just! Blake and my sone were only 9 months apart, very close and mistaken as twins so many times. Everytime I look at my son it gives me just that much more drive to see that Blakes death was not in vain. We will find the ones responsible! I jusst hope they live everyday with this weighing heavy on their hearts and minds, and look over their shoulder at every turn, because the first time the dont not, they will wish they did.
Thank you for your concern!

Please know that Blake was an amazing person! The most loving, friendly, caring person! His FAMILY is doing everything possible to find the person/persons responsible. But remember this is a MURDER investigation and somethings can not be said but believe me his MOTHER is beside herself, heartbroken, and beating herself up over something she has/had no control over. He was doing things that evening every teenager does. Dance/spending the night with a friend. The FACT remains he was MURDERED and NO child/person for that matter deserves that! If more people whould try and see what they ,,can do to help, instead of making remarks about what they believe should have been done, then the world would be a better place. Im sure there is a private investigator out there somewhere, that would love to step up and help our family, at this point we need all we can get. If anyone out there has anyway of helping us solve this feel free to email me at tonyagogolin@yahoo.com ! Please know it would mean the world to our family! We LOVE BLAKE. AND MISS HIM MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF. REMEMBER, DON'T TAKE LIFE FOR GRANTED AND HELP OTHERS WHEN AT ALL POSSIBLE, BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MAY NEED HELP YOURSELF. THANK YOU, BLAKES AUNT TONYA!

Thanks Tonya, for answering. We do not mean any disrespect to the family, just baffled why we had heard nothing. Quite frustrating. I hope that the police stay on top of Blake's case and do not allow it to grow cold. Personally I have looked up sexual offenders in the area, since the police have had no leads. Anything to try to think what kind of monster does this to a high school kid. I'm sorry for your loss of your nephew, and I am certain living out of state is enough to frustrate you. I can't imagine what all of you are going through. How can someone keep a teenage boy for two months and then he is found as he was. Again, I pray they bring the person or persons involved to justice- IF anyone knows anything and is holding back information YOU are just as guilty and the person/persons could turn on you! Don't let this young man's murder go unsolved! The family has lost their son and need justice served!!! Again Tonya, Thank you and peace to you and your family.

Tonya, my heart goes out to you and your family. I never want to know how you are feeling. Like Solve it, I have also been looking online for different criminals in the area. Additionally I’ve been snooping around a little, trying to put some of my old skills to use. When I made my first post I was a little passionate and angry. Hence my moniker, I apologize if it was perceived as disrespectful. I will continue to do everything I can to help. No one should go unpunished for hurting a child.
