They will need something for the insurance companies to squabble over.

I hope you people never have to endure the pain associated with this type of tragedy. Heather was a wonderful young woman and I will pray for the families.

Actually, I believe that is a 4 lane road - two in each direction - and depending on where it happened, there may have even been a median. I'd say the guy was drunk. Poor girl's family and young husband. Terrible, terrible tragedy.

When will the State Of Florida make tougher penalties for DUI offenders.

Terrible tragedy we all can agree. However did you not post regarding the cigarette tax. My response was taxing alcohol, for this very reason! Young life taken by alcohol abuse big time. By the way while posting if it is determined the driver was DUI whomever and whereever he was last that served him best start worrying. The family of the deceased will be looking or their lawyers will be! And rightfully so!

Gobama is right- the entire stretch thru that part of Hwy 50 is 4 lanes-> For those who feel the urge to leave sarcastic remarks-> Don't you have any feelings at all? Innocent persons either died or were hurt..... and you want to make a joke out of it? My prayers are with the families.

Unfortunately you can make all the laws you want regarding these idiots that DUI, they think it doesn't apply to them anyway. Take their car, they get another one, offer them taxis home, their insulted, put em behind bars, the ACLU defends them, throw em the 12 step treatment the relapse rate is alarming. If they can have a license, then put it on the folks that sell. CARD EVERYBODY that buys. No matter their age. If the symbol of DUI is on the license. NO SERVICE. So unless mr/mrs DUI is going into the distillery business they will be SOL. Anyone caught violating loses their liquor license to sell.

Why do people constantly mock the ACLU? Only uneducated ditto heads do that. The ACLU protects anyone who may have their rights trampled on, according to the Constitution. Most people who keep pushing ACLU hate are religious and ignorant, and think the ACLU is anti-religious.

HUGE list of cases where the ACLU defended Christians

The ACLU defends ANYONE who is being discriminated against. Don't you want someone watching out for your rights in your pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness?

Nice. A middle-aged drunk ruined the lives of young people with their whole lives ahead of them.
In a perfect world, 2 out of his family would be picked to pay for his crimes.

How sad for the family of those who have suffered losses due to the likelihood of another drunk driver.

Personally, I don't need any organization watching out for something I should be personally watching out for. The ACLU and other organizations have simultaneously been flipflopping their stance on constitutionality so much they have no idea what they stand for anymore. Yes I am sure they have defended people of Christian faith so what, they are the same people that will decry against faith in other areas. You believe them if you want, me I'll choose to listen to all views then make my own!

I don't think this problem is solely due to drunk drivers. It is not. It's mostly a combination of stupidity combined with some drinks. I've been driving after consuming alcohol all my life (over 20 yrs) and was never involved in any accident or got a traffic ticket as a result of alcohol consumption. If a person is stupid, impulsive or aggressive by nature, he or she would be involved in an accident regardless of drinking. Of course a person should never drive if he is heavily intoxicated, but moderate consumption is OK when combined with extra carefullness. Stop this DUI hysteria
