Let's take the kids out of the comfort temperature zone so they can freeze in the winter and be sweaty and stinky during the summer. Both lead to a distraction for education. Next they will want to stop all outside air from comming into the building, which will raise CO2 levels to make the kids sleepy, again a distraction. Whoever thought of these temperatures does not know anything about building HVAC systems. They will wind up wasting about the same amount of money as they are trying to save by all the problems they will cause.
Why don't the school board hire an energy consultant to look into this issue instead of showing their ignorance? The technology is out there to make a difference in energy demand for the school. Some of the items may be cheap, some will be more expensive. Maybe they should cut some salaries to impliment some green technology. |
