Bush will boil it down to a technicality of missing a simple pieces of paper work, a license, a slap on the wrist.

A fine, no more.

If they go down they could squeal on a lot of stuff so that is counter leverage.

"It was not clear if Blackwater employees suspected of selling to the black market knew the weapons they allegedly sold to middlemen might wind up with the PKK"

..sold to a middleman..

"The North Carolina investigation was first brought to light by State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard, who mentioned it, perhaps inadvertently, this week while denying he had improperly blocked fraud and corruption probes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Krongard was accused in a letter by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee"

..Rep. Henry Waxman, do I need to say anymore..

Smoke and mirrors people!! Do not be fooled by this "probe". Some small number of Blackwater thugs may get arrested and convicted, but this is to pacify the enraged millions here and elsewhere and to pretend that these hired killers are in fact accountable for their actions. Bull crap.

They need a few fall guys for the latest murder that hit the press. It will be business as usual until the Iraqi Parliament signs the oil law...

Petraeus had to arm the "enemy" so he could have someone to make the "surge" seem to be working. Why didn't they try to pacify Baghdad, the place where the "surge" was supposed to work? Baghdad is still under the control of insurgents, Al Qaeda, Al Sadr and who knows what other group. Our forces hide out in the "Green Zone" except for excursions/runs through the streets, shooting up civilians as they go. Sure is a Messopotamia "lil bush" has created. Vietnam will pale in comparison before this debacle is over!

Both arguments are equally spurious.

If we sold more guns to insurgents Bush wouldn't have to ask congress for additional funding for the war.

Oops, a video tape. We may get to see lies or truth unfold before our very eyes. Funny twist on the Big Brother is watching theme. Big Brother is becoming each and every human, not just the government concept. Seeya on the news!

I just can't believe that so many people both here and in the US think those "mercenary killers" are just a bunch of good ol boys letting off some steam. Eric Prince has made hundreds of millions of this bullshit war. His mercs are getitng paid $30K cash a month whilst the poor bastard grunts doing the dying are on $280 a week.

Sometimes just thinking about this administration causes me to lose my sense of humor.......and then......things just aren't funny anymore.
