the bottom line for the jury should have been that there was no blood splatter on the workbench from jennifer's slit throat. however, they said that because jennifer's blood was not in his pocket, only his own, it was self defense.

firstly, if someone was stabbing me with a spear, I don't think my first thought would have been to reach into my pocket to grab my four inch blade, it would be to grab the spear.

next, if I have a seven foot spear, I don't think i would aim for someone's thigh, i would aim for their vitals, ie: the heart. how lucky kirk was that the spear mysteriously missed his his femoral artery. how a medical professional with extensive education on human anatomy could be so lucky? yes, that is very sarcastic.

furthermore, when he was planning his self defense story in the interim ie: the 90 minutes of un-accounted for time, he more than likely walked through exactly how he was going to say things happened. it probably crossed his mind that he was going to say that he pulled the knife from his pocket after he had been wounded, and again, because of his knowledge of blood plasma and DNA smears, was able to plant his own blood in his pocket after simply wiping off his hands. the forensic expert probably didn't examine every single blood cell from the pocket smear, but if it were possible, i bet there would be residual amounts.

and to further my point from the beginning concerning the spear, if by chance jennifer did stab kirk in the thigh first, would your knee-jerk reaction be to reach into your pocket, or put your hands up to defend yourself. if jennifer was a warrior as proposed by the defense, in the amount of time kirk was able to fish around in his pants, pull out his knife, flip the blade open, jennifer would surely have been able to conduct a fatal blow, considering, as kirk said, at least one of his hands was predisposed in his pocket.

finally, listening to the jury give their opinions of how they disliked one of the prosecutors, i find it hard to believe that they made their decision solely based on facts. listening to them speak, i got the feeling that the eighth grade was an unreachable milestone for most of them.

"I have the same knife that was used to kill her, ha ha," one of the jury members said. when he said that I couldn't believe it. REDNECK.

as for the son, I think he is following the money.

as for the family friend, give me a break. one of the most horrific nights of your life and you lose 90 minutes? give me a break. "We all thought he was a standup guy," the jury members retorted. wow. wow.

disgusting backwards people.

"we is just be following the evidence." Give me a break. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the jury members were all related---you know what i'm implying.

to end, a question to play with:
what would jennifer have gained from killing kirk?

if she was angry, and wanted him to suffer, would she want to end his life or take him for everything he had? I know what I would do!

Too bad you were not in the courtroom. Who is showing their stupidity and lack of education? Do you really believe that the media and 48 Hours related the facts, the real facts or those that support a more sensational story?

The daughter followed the money. She made sure that her brother was indicted for "breaking" into his own home to get his clothes. The daughter ended up with over 2/3's of her mother's estate. The son got the shaft. Not an uncommon practice for a Struthersís woman. Mrs. Turner's mother sent her estranged husband a dead rat when he filed for divorce.

What would Mrs. Turner get if she had killed Dr. Turner and gotten away with it? Let's see-In North Carolina, she would have gotten it all. No sharing 50/50.$1.7 million in life insurance,$1 million in retirement,$1 million farm,$1.5 million dollar practice, 9 vintage corvettes, 10 horses,$300,000 gold stolen from Dr. Turner's father, release of $986,000 in loans to Dr. Turner's father. Enough motive for you?

Dr. Turner had proof that Mrs. Turner was cheating. He gave her the proof on September 12th. No alimony, no alienation of affection lawsuit. 50%/50% down the middle split.

As for the spear, in the divorce inventory pictures, the spear was upstairs in the shop apartment behind a locked door. Who got the spear moved downstairs? Dr. Turner was not allowed on the property.

Show some of that advanced intellect you report having. Know the facts or just keep quite. Dr. Turner is suing the State and the SBI for manufacturing evidence, wrongful imprisonment and a few other odds and ends.

Great analysis. Completely agree. I realize this thread is years old but I am completely flabbergasted by the verdict.
