Did that horrendous speed trap operation on Hwy 67 commence about the same time Alberti took over the Chief's job? It's just a matter of time until it brings real trouble to Keene.

You are one brain-washed, gullible ignoramous, or one of the speed trap operators, which is it? One does not have to speed to be stopped, and ticketed in the Keene area. There is a big difference in legitimate law enforcement and that which is being practiced in the Keene area. You obviously approve of, and support, this illegal activity. Sooner, or later, hopefully sooner, evidence of this operation will get to the right official in state government and this little illegal operation will cease to exist. And, perhaps its operators will hear the clang of those big heavy doors close behind them. What goes around comes around....as the saying goes.

Would love to know what proof you have to show that the traffic enforcement done in Keene is illegal? Better yet, provide some proof where some of this illegal activity has actually happened.

Last time I checked a police departement is regulated the task of monitoring the traffic that drives in and thru their city. Parking on the side of the road with a radar or laser used to measure the speed of a vehicle is one of the ways this is accomplished.

The state sets the speed limit for US HWY 67 not the City of Keene. The City of Keene police department is tasked the responsibilty to enforce those speed restrictions as well as work the large number of injury related accidents that happen on that section of US HWY 67 that is in the City limits of Keene.

I drive through their everday and I have managed to never get stopped, because I obey the speed limit.

Writing tickets are a way all city police departments generate revenue for their budgets. But as in any crime or violation of the law their are conseqences and for adults those consequences require a hit to their pocket books to hopefully garner a change in behavior. Adults are to old to be slapped on the hand to garner a change in behavior.

DO NOT SPEED and YOU will not get a TICKET or pulled over!!!

Quit whinning and obey the law!!!

Hey, I'm a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen of this great state and great country. Take a ride out Hwy 67 going northeast and see the operation for yourself. One would have to be blind in both eyes to miss this egregious miscarriage of justice. But...then you know all this. I'm not defending those who willfully flaunt the traffic laws. But then, I cannot support small town (hick town) speed traps that commit thievery. Those backward burgs should NOT have the authority to enforce traffic laws on state or federal highways...and should be restricted to their city streets without exception. They resort to speed traps for revenue because they cannot squeeze sufficient taxes from their citizens to support a police dept in the first place.....so they steal from the public who use the public roads. Use Hwy 67, and you WILL get pulled over, ticketed and seriously mistreated by Keene police. This type of activity gives ALL law enforcement a bad name and creates public mistrust of law enforcement....and rightly so. Try improving your grammar! It really sucks!

Squeaky, limp-wrist-ed little guys always resort to name calling. Do you fit this category? Just asking! Oh, and be sure to look behind your fly and see if there is anything there. Then, post the results on this thread. OK! Take your best shot, but try to use understandable grammar and spell check....please!

Its a forum you moron not a spelling/grammar exam. You poor mistreated tax paying law abiding citizen. If you were law abiding then you should not have had any contact with the police. As for not having the authority, too bad they do!! You need quit your whinning and slow your butt down. It is not like they arfe hiding behind signs and bushes. They park in a safe area off of the road which is completely visible as you approach them. Tough luck if you were speeding and did not see them in time to slow down, which is what you should have been doing when you saw the SPEED LIMIT sign.

Once again as I stated above, where is the proof of the mistreatment and where is the proof of the illegal activities? Give us something, not just the same whinny rhetoric that spew out on this forum. Facts and proof!!! Put up or SHUT UP!!!!

They hide well off the roadway where they are not easily spotted. The speed limit sign is not where one would ever expect the limit to be posted that low.....right where the limit should be highway speed. The sign, like the squad car, is easily missed, and certainly not expected, a combo perfectly made for speed trap operations by the barrel bottom of law enforcement. Please do not misunderstand, I have great respect for the law and good, reasonable, uniform enforement thereof. This is not good, reasonable, enforcement but rather trick and trap enforcement for the purpose of revenue collection for a small group who likely are residing on the wrong side of the bars. Police wannabes, such as these, make the worst kind of officers, and cause serious mistrust of real law enforcement officers at a time when good is badly needed, nationwide.

Same crap your spilling out, but it is still BS.

In other words you did not see them, because you did not expect them to be there and you did not agree with the speed limits posted in that location by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Quite the vocabulary! The fact that TX DOT likely misplaced the speed sign does not authorize thieves to operate a speed trap. And...if Keene officials wanted to do the right thing, they could likely get TX DOT to place the sign where it is more visible and noticeable, or remove it altogether. Of course that would practically eleminate the speed trap.

David- You are apparently an idiot. The 'speed trap' in Keene is exactly that, a trap.

Heading east it goes from 65 to 55 to 50 in exactly 0.5 mile spacing, the minimum required by law then after 0.7 miles goes back up to 60 then 65 a short ways later.

The pigs, and yes, that's what they are when they treat the public this way, sit at exactly 0.5 miles past the 50 sign and write all the tickets they can.

If the speed was lowered for safety the signs for 55 then 50 would be large and have flashing indicators, instead they are the smallest allowed by law. Also, the cops actually measure you too close to the 50 sign when they are not allowed to enforce the new limit for 0.5 miles AFTER the new sign.

Purely a revenue generator.

the fact that I can NOT find speed study conducted for this stretch of roadway, and the fact the wanna be idiots out in Keene started pulling over 2 at a time and risked the lives of surrounding motorists to do so by employing their own version of Dukes of Hazzard road antics prove the "police" in Keene are no more that crimminals with badges!

I was traveling back to Dallas from Glen Rose when I experienced this speed trap in Keene for myself. A patrol car did a U turn with lights flashing and I wondered what the emergency was. One of my passengers remarked, "Wonder who he's after." And to our astonishment, it was me! I had never received a speeding ticket in 40 years of driving, but I got one this evening. I was going with the flow, as they say, not passing anyone. Shame on you, City of Keene officials. I heard of a judge and a mayor in another little Texas town who had been arrested by the FBI
for their corrupt goings on. Maybe justice will come to Keene as well. I can only pay my ticket and hope so.

Isn't it interesting that the "Average speed" of the tickets issued is 18 miles over the limit...
I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the speeders have never driven this stretch of highway before and are just heading back from a GREAT day with their family in Glen Rose. It is dark and they have been driving in 65 mph zones for the past 17 miles - one of the children in the car just happens to do something to make the driver glance to the back seat at the only second he/she could have seen the new 50 mph sign...
Once you have had time to pull over, you are actually already in a 60 mph zone!!!
Keene and it's PD is SHAMELESS!!!
P.S. David - It is shocking you are so proud of SUCH behavior.
