I believe that any parent who decides to get their kid a sports car of any kind as their first car is just a horrid decision. I had a 68 Camaro for my first car. I did have a ton of respect for the road and others on it, but I did act a little wrecklessly at times while driving it.

I recently traded my SVT Cobra Mustang in for a 4 door V6 sedan. Not only for the added fuel mileage, but because I was overly tired of every little kid with a modified import or other car waiting to race me on the highways or at redlights. I have had rolls of money flashed at me for a race. It really gets old. Getting rid of that car was the best thing for me. Now I can drive somewhere in style and comfort without being annoyed. I still drive over the speed limit, but not by enough to consider myself a wreckless driver.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the driving age should be raised to 21, but at 18, you should be able to drive. You can shoot and get shot at defending your country, you can buy tobacco, you can vote, so you should be able to drive!

But they should change the rules which make offenses of the minor child the responsibility of the parent as well.
