Really??? Sparkling? Ha! If you call debris and bacteria growing on the sides sparkling, you must be blind! And what about the constant police presence? And the drug dealers? You claim the property is beautiful, but you fail to address the residents concerns regrading safety!!!

Readers, be assured that Management work tirelessly to make certain that our community is attractive and well maintained. Our resident rules are logical, and generally are readily followed, but there will always be those who choose not to do their part to be a positive part of any community. And be further assured that the premium standard of our pool is a top priority for us. Sparkling and blue is required every day! You are cordially invited to come and visit us at Clear Harbor and see for yourself all that we have to offer!

i guess i thought that this place was affilitated with the apartments next door(plantain gardens) but i can see now it is not. i drove through clear harbor and im glad i saw what i did. im kinda worried about living next to this place because what if the hoodlums start jumping over the fence into my new apt complex and creating problems over there. the apt manager seems nice on the phone but i bet even the devil has a welcoming voice. GLAD I DIDNT MOVE INTO CLEAR HARBOR
Big mistake

I thought that I was one of the lucky ones to get into Clear Harbor. Not the case! The day I signed my lease, I felt as though I signed my life away. They raise your rent in the middle of you lease, which if you are a single parent on a fixed income, that can be a hardship. They will not allow you to get Brighthouse or Verizon cable. The only cable alowed is "Moonbeam". Never heard of it? That's because it's really Dish Network, but they jack up the price to double what the average person pays. We pay around $50 for BASIC cable!!!!! Clear Harbor owns the only satalitte dish, so we can't get premium channels or get a box through Dish. Don't belive it? Call Dish yourself and give them the address of the Clubhouse. This place had so much potiential, but it is a scary place to live. The pool is never clean, children have destroyed the hallways, the stairs are littered with trash and bugs, and my usually clean house had had German roaches for the last 6 months. And they offer Pest control, but honestly you would be better off going to Walmart and buying your own can of Raid. It works a lot better than the watered down stuff they use. Property has been stolen from the pest control too! I had my new camera stolen a couple of weeks ago after the pest control guy was here. Seriously, if you have doubts, go next door and talk to Plantation Gardens, ask them how many problems they have with the residents here.

Interesting bit of info for any future or current residents. Maybe this will give you an idea of how wonderful their "background checks" are at CLear Harbor. GO to www.pcsoweb.com/pages/who_jail.html
website. About halfway down you will see an area where is says inquiry by address.
Try typing in 11260 , 11270 or 11780 which are all the addresses in
Clear Harbor. It will pull up a list of people arrested that reside there. There are several with FELONY drug charges that were arrested as recent as the end of June 1010. Do you really want to live among drug dealers???? The office will tell you that they screen EVERYONE thoroughly, but THEY LIE!!!

No! You guys are liars and thieves! The pool is gross, drug dealers live here, It is a low income property and it really shows. Kids roam the streets all hours with no parents, peoples apartments have been broken into, cars vandalized, used condoms in breezeways! This place should be shut down. Sparkling pool? What a joke. Since when did green water ever look inviting?

Seriously? I know diffrent
Why are you still there? You must have been a dealer because Ive lived here since it opened and I have no problems.

Well it looks like one person wrote a bunch of reviews because they got evicted or got into trouble of some kind. Get over youself. This is probaly the nicest place you have lived and are mad cuz you got evicted. Judith (english speaking lady) In the office is always available to help and returns messages in a very timly manner. The pool..... well to be honest its cleaned twice a week. I see the pool service there every monday and the matinence staff on thursday or friday. I could only see calling residents here drug dealers if you were prejudiced against black people. I have NEVER had my rent raised mid-lease. I have never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Anytime I have had an issue or problem I have spoken up and somthing was done. Hint to the angry posters......Learn what a ghetto REALLY is and you will know that this is a great place. BTW, Why are most of the angry posts from St.Petersburg?????

Fed Up with Clear Harbor wrote:
I agree 150% with the previous posts. Do not even consider Clear Harbor if you want a safe, clean place to raise a family. You can't use the pool because it is always filthy, I have found disgusting things in that pool. The apartments have mildew around the windows, I have notified the office, but nothing was ever done. I have found condoms (used) in the breezeways, teenagers walking around with beer and cigs at 12am, breezeways smell like pot on a daily basis, I could go on all day...Long story short, don't think about trying to move in there. You will be miserable everyday until your lease is up. If you don't believe it, I suggest you talk to the residents and ask then how much they enjoy living at Clear Harbor...
Maybe you should try cleaning your windows every once in a while. I have had black mold and mildew in an apt in oldsmar because of a mis directed sprinkler and you would know the diffrence of dirt and mildew if you CLEANED IT!

Run the other way future resident of Clear Harbor! You will regret signing a lease her EVERYDAY for the duration of your lease! It's scary to walk aaround the complex at night. You never know who you will run into. Little things run through the breezeways screaming bloody murder, they throw trash wear ever they please, roaches and other unidentifiable bugs will become permanent roommates in your apartment. We are on the 8th maintenance person since they opened 2 years ago. The police are here every night, and about half of the renters are drug dealers. The pool is not clean at all. Think green sludge around the side of the pool is not clean. I can't even go swinning in there becausr I have had several UTIs and ear infections...Counting the days to my lease is up!
Your health problems are your fault! HAHA Take better care of yourself and stop trying to blame the pool. UTI's are INTERNAL my dear.

Management Lies wrote:
I will hand it to the management, they talk a good talk. But seeing is believing. Just a few days ago an abandoned shopping cart was left for several days near one of the buildings, and now when I walked my dog last night I found a garbage can sitting out being one of the buildings and their is a kitchen pot laying in the bushes. The maintenance person has seen these various items and has not removed them. It is a filthy place to live. Most apartments have insects, the police men patrol her every night, it is so noisy on the weekends and drug dealers are out numbering the law abiding citizens. I have discussed this with EVERY property manager that has worked her and nothing is done. I do not feel safe here anymore. As a single woman I am afraid of being shot while I sleep in some drug deal gone bad scenario. Please, please, please, do not move into this place. You will regret it. Drive through here on a Friday or Saturday night and you will see what I mean.
If you feel so unsafe then why are you still here? I am a person who keeps somewhat late hours and For about a year now I caome home between the hours of 9-2 at noght and I feel fine comiong home.

@ Liar, I bet your ONE of the people on section 8! Its all in your typing my dear! Of course you feel safe and at home cause you came from the ghetto to a "better looking ghetto..." My bestfriend who is a BLACK SINGLE mother that lives there (NOT on section 8) says they do raise your rent in the middle of the least which you wouldn't know that cause THE STATE pays YOUR rent for you! Plus she said drug dealers are EVERYWHERE and I have seen them MYSELF, which stop me from making the same dumb mistake of moving there with my family!

I personally tried the Pinellas Sheriff Office Who's in Jail site and yes, there are numerous people who live(ed) at Clear Harbor that have been arrested for some serious offenses.

I am a single mother who works overnights and I tend to sleep during the day. Over the summer I was awakened numerous times to kids banging loudly on my door as well as my neighbors. when i would get up to answer the door, no body was there. This went on a lot. If/when you could locate the children and try and talk to the parents, they would dismiss you as if you couldn't possibly be talking about their kids. Look at the breezeways, they are filthy! Trash is always in the hallways, the stairs are sticky with gum, ice cream, etc. It is really sad how this place has gone down so quickly.

Ive lived here for a little while and these claims that there are drug dealers and that the pool is gross etc. are completely false. Look this is an apartment and living in an apartment there are some things you have to deal with, noise, peopel hanging out outside are expected. Name 1 apartmetn complex that dosent have a problem with noise. This is nowhere close to a ghetto, i have worked in a ghetto in stpete and this is nothing close. The pool is a great place and the apartments are beautiful.

Actually im not on section 8 so go ahead and analyze that post some more. I feel safe here because i hsve never seen any drug dealers. Unless a black person standing by his car is a dealer. Youre a racist, i dont care if your imaginary friend told you that her rent was raised. It NEVER HAPPENED! I pay my rent put of my pocket unlike you , you seem to know an awful lot about section 8 and how things work. FYI their has to be a raise across the board for renters in a complex meaning if they raise 1 tenants rent they have to raise everyones. EVERY tenant would know about it, sec 8 or not.
better options out there

I am a current resident of Clear Harbor. I would like to voice my opinions. I do not think that this is the place to argue about who is more "ghetto" or who is on Section 8. Clear Harbor is nice if you go by outward appearances. Yes, they are fairly new, yes, they are less than comparable apartments in the area. But I have an issue with having only 1 option for cable (They subscribe to Dish and charge any interested tenant $50+ a month for basic service) I do have an issue with the cigarette butts that litter the property, the children that are very loud and disrespectful, and the loud music late at night, The police that are called here on a weekly basis, etc. The pool is cleaner than it was, but it is locked and closed for a couple of days at a time. If it was maintained PROPERLY, they would not need to lock it for 2+ days. I certainly hope that they bring in a new owners who can make Clear Harbor as nice as it should be.

horrible place to live wrote:
I am a current resident at clearharbor and it is true. This is not a good place to raise our kids is supposed to be an income base apartment a safe community but they are just accepting anybody into this community, i cant wait to move out here, drugs deelers, people smoking weed, trash all around the area, the pool is nasty. this place is a getto.
We are sorry to hear of any bad experience a resident may have had, but we do screen every applicant very closely before leasing our beautiful apartment homes. Clear Harbor is a highly sought after luxury community and we currently have only a small number of 2 bedroom homes available for rental, with waiting lists that have prospects signing up for 2012 to make sure they can move here! Come by and visit our lovely community and see what we have to offer!

Pool issues

Saint Petersburg, FL

#40 Sep 24, 2010
I do like my apartment at Clear harbor. I am a single woman with a small child. I have looked at other places, but I can't get the space that I have in my current apartment. My issue is the pool! I have had to cancel several playdates for my son, because recently the pool has been closed at odd times. Last weekend it was locked Thursday-Saturday. Today I go to use the pool (Friday) and it is locked and the sign is up. This is not fair to those of us who would like to take our children to the pool. It is embarrassing to have to cancel a playdate at the last moment because of things like this. When my leasei sup, I will be looking for a place that has a pool that is open on a regular basis.

Management apologizes for pool closures, but please know that our reasons are for health and safety. The pool will be closed if the daily reading shows that chemical adjustment is needed, but will re-open as soon as possible. We recently had to close the pool from Wednesday through Friday noon(the pool WAS open on Saturday)for maintenance issues. We hope residents will appreciate that staff work very hard to maintain our beautiful pool area so that residents and their guests can enjoy a perfect swim! Thanks so all our residents for their understanding when the pool has to be closed.
