Scientology hearing ends abruptly

Feb 10, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: MySanAntonio.com

A day after enduring hours of lurid and highly damaging court testimony by a former Church of Scientology official who is being sued by the church, the church's lawyers abruptly threw in the towel Friday.

Yes, certainly wouldn't want david miscavige taking the stand or being deposed for litigation.

Suck it up Davey, coz the worst(or best if you're an SP) is yet to come

Since we KNOW that David Miscavige is micro-managing the lawyer (he always does), we know that it was Little Davey who threw in the towel -- all the while ranting about SPs.

Davey isn't bright enough to know that HE is the cause of all his problems.

I'm sure the lawyers tried to talk him out of this, no doubt pleaded with him, warned him it would be a PR disaster. But he wouldn't listen and here we are. He has always been his own worst enemy.

My knowledge of the law is limited because (knock on wood) I've never had to go to court. So what happens now? Wasn't this just a hearing to determine whether or not there should be a trial? Since scientology "quit", that's it, right? Debbie and her husband don't have to pay back the 100K or pay $cientology 300K, right? Everything's over? Aside from time lost at work for Debbie and her husband and their attorney's fees, I wonder what the total cost has been for this ridiculous mess? How many lawyers did scientology pay?

If so, I truly hope that the slimy scion lawyers or the man that pays them will think twice before slapping so many frivilous lawsuits on people who just want to get out of the cult and enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

This proceeding was not to determine whether there should be a trial, as of now Scientology has not dropped their suit against Debbie. This proceeding was to determine whether the "church" would get a temporary restraining order that would prevent Debbie/Wayne from talking to anyone about Scientology or the NDA.

Thanks, Rachel, I think I understand. Since the church did NOT get a temporary restraining order this time, Debbie and Wayne can feel free to talk to anyone re what goes on in COS, if they choose to do so. However, I'm assuming that they could get slapped with more lawsuits if they share too much with the public. On the other hand, the public has a right to know the truth, e.g. what exactly goes on in "The Hole" and how many people have over the years been imprisoned and abused?
