I have never forgotten sweet little Rachel Runyon and what happened to her. Her name sticks in my memory and in my heart forever. The loss of this sweet innocent baby was such a major shock and blow to everyone. I hope and pray that opening her case again will solve what happened to her. I hope they catch whoever it is that took this little angel from this earth. Blessings to you her family & friends ~

I went to Doxey Elementary from 1985-1991 and Rachael's kidnapping and murder was told to me by the older kids there. Her name remains with me to this day. I really hope they solve her case so her family can finally be at peace.

I'm 25, I was a baby when this happened, but while reseaching her name popped up. I did not read exactly what happened but reading you guys comments, I can image. I do know I am a mother, and my children are my everything. I wouldn't know what to do if something like that would happen to them. I feel sorry for the family, and wish them closure.

I lived just a few streets down from their family and had gone to the same school (Doxey Elementary) a few years prior to her disappearance. I thought they had solved this already? I am fairly certain i saw an 'update' on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries back in the early 90s.???

Definitely still unsolved[1]. I'm doing research for a speech on wireless AMBER alerts. While these stories are tragic and I hope to high heaven they find whoever did this, as a result of Rachael's case drastic changes have taken place which make stories like this less frequent. I was 5 years old that day when Raechel and her brother were in the park. I have never forgotten and often thought it could have been me. My parents didn't talk to me directly about the case but I over heard enough. I don't know if it was that day but on other occasions we all played in their backyard, which conected to the elementary school playground with a fence gate. Her brother and I were in the same kindergarten class and we played together a lot. They had a trampoline that we would play on but if we got loud his mother would shew us away to the school. She had a new baby she didn't want us to wake up. I was so young that my memories of that time were all mixed together. I don't remember a car but I do remember a workers truck that pulled up on the playground. It parked on the square four area. I remember one time playing in the sand under the swings with her brother. I remember he had short shorts on, and we were both digging in the dirt. I don't remember Raechel from that time. But that day has never left me. I have often recalled it along with another murder I was told about way back then. It was a story of a teenage boy who lured a young girl into an old shack, killed her and burned it. The shack was in a field off a dirt road in Sunset. I remember my mom telling us that story and driving on the dirt road and pointing out the spot was the shack was.

I remember that day like it was yesterday too. I freaked out as a young mother and asked my babysitter if she ever let my daughter go to the toy isle alone while she shops. She said "Yes." And I said "Don't."

Her story still stays in my mind.A beautiful little girl taken so tragically. Whoever took this little angels life, will one day have to pay the price. I know Rachel is happy and safe, but the person who did this to her, will one day meet his maker.

I have never been able to get this little sweetheart's story out of my mind and think of her still all these years later and know she is in the arms of Jesus. My daughter was her age at that time. But for the grace of God ---

It always stuck in my mind , and I can even remember when I first got a glimpse of this. She shares my name , I thought " she has my name " and she's gone. At the time I was watching this originally, my youngest sister was only 1 years old . I was wondering how a parent deals with something this horrific. Here it is years later, I'm married and I have a little girl of my own . now that I'm a parent, I understand!
