This post is written to let the public, especially Lawrence Township taxpayers, know about the corruption that went on at the police department while I worked there. I can finally bring this out into the open now that my legal problems are over.

While working as a police officer for 4 years at Lawrence Township, many things happened that caused me to lose respect for the law and how it operated. The police chief at the time, Eric Quigley, was at the center of it all. While working there, I witnessed Quigley alter a report to cover up a crime. I also witnessed Quigley remove assault weapons from the department so he could go shoot them with his friends. In another incident, Quigley permitted night shift officers to attend a beer party at his camp in Curry Run, which is approximately 20 miles outside their jurisdiction, while they were on duty, leaving the township without police protection for a number of hours. There were also many (I lost count) days that Quigley would take a paid "sick" day and later be seen by fellow officers at the R-Bar in Hyde getting drunk. Its good to know the taxpayers were paying him to get drunk. Then there was the wrongful death lawsuit that myself, Quigley and two other officers were involved in. If the deceased man's wife would have seen the original report, she would have seen that her husband told officers at the scene of the accident that he was gonna go home "and end it all." But she didn't see that. What she saw was an altered report that aleviated the township of any wrong doing. The original report mysteriously disappeared. How do I know this? Because I saw both reports. How do I know all of this happened? Because I was there for all of it. I was at the camp the night of the beer party. I saw the altered report for the cover-up of the crime. If you don't believe me, ask Officer James Stewart, who was the one that responded to the call. I was at the same camp where the dept. assault rifle was taken too.

These incidents were reported to Bill Lawhead, the chairman for the township at the time and the same man who is currently still the chairman of the township. Mr. Lawhead chose to ignore the corruption and do nothing about it, which leads me to believe that he condoned it. Chief Quigley suddenly retired when I won the assault trial against his son. In fact he retired the very next day after the trial because he knew that I was going to expose him for all of this. He now is currently retired and collecting a nice pension from Lawrence Township for all his dedicated years of service. Mr. Lawhead had a chance to put an end to all of this, but instead chose to turn a blind eye, and now the taxpayers are paying for Quigley's pension. Is this the man you want running your township. I'll let u be the judge of that.

Was the Attorney General notified?

No they weren't. I was actually afraid at the time that if I brought it to the attention of anyone like that that I would be targeted and end up losing my job. After I did bring it up to Township Chairman Bill Lawhead, instead of him addressing the problem, I became a scapegoat and was put under a microscope for every little thing I did. It became very hard to wanna go to work and do a job that I had wanted to do my whole life and that I loved up until that point. The only reason I have waited this long to say something is because of legal troubles that I have had for the past few years and I didn't want the added attention brought to myself. But I would have no problem saying anything at this time now that my legal troubles are over. There are enough officers that know what happened to know that what Im saying is true.

Are you kidding? This guy (if it is Matt Houser) is on parole, he is complicit in all actions he described and anyway, this is the most reliable source of facts for anyone who likes to lie and slander good people.

He wouldn't have the balls to send that stuff to anyone in law enforcement

What do you mean "if it is Matt Houser"? You never questioned his identity when you were constantly cutting him down. Now all of the sudden you have doubts? Bullshit.

He had the balls to post it here under his real name, that's more than you have done, coward.

I doubt that Mr.Houser is making any of this up, he know's that he would be subject to libel if he did.

You are blinded by kissing the asses of those "good people."

I believe Mr. Houser. Many times, we just go along with our supervisors, to keep our jobs and a steady paycheck. Many times it's a disgruntled employee that brings corruption to light. Mr. Houser has a right to be upset, and I'm glad he is sharing this information now.

I've copied and saved these posts, because I'm sure they will be erased. I'm going to forward the information to the Attorney General.

Smithmill is posting from State College. Pay attention! I was at work all day, yes that's right folks, no welfare, and do not participate in bullshit while on the clock.

I have nothing to say about this topic. Let Houser do as he pleases. A rare few will take him seriously.

Pay attention, idiot! I am not posting from State College.
I thought this was made clear earlier this week.

Sorry, I'm not "Smithmill", I am a person who hates to see his foibles and fu ck ups turn him into some kind of martyr.

Houser is a disgrace to anyone who ever wore a uniform and has not changed a bit. He can't wait to get off parole so he can go out and do it all again..........I believe he incriminated himself on here and if all the accusations he made are true , he is guilty of conspiracy .

That would make him vulnerable to criminal charges being filed unless of course he made a deal and becamea snitch which would not surprise me either.

Keep talking Matt, you don't even make a good jailhouse lawyer.(Been to Mojos lately)?

You are correct. I do know a little bit about the law havine studied it for four years in college and enforcing it for another four years at Lawrence Township. If I were making any of this up, I would be subject to libel and slander. These are not the kind of offenses that someone would make up and then post on here, especially under their real name. This stuff really happened and thats why I have not problem putting my name right beside it. THESE ARE FACTS. Including myself, there are at least 5 other police officers that can verify what I am saying.

Hey Goodone, if you don't think I have the balls to take this information to the Attorney Generals office, you are dead wrong.

Im sure that this thread is going to be erased soon because I am sure that certain individuals will try to do anything to make sure that this information does not go public. Go ahead and erase it, because the facts are the facts and they will never leave my mind.

I believe you Matt, I witnessed and was part of one of these cop parties in the late 90s. I dont have anything against beer parties, but cops should be held to the fire. When they hand out a DUI someones life is altered.(although it might have been for the good, saving someones life) when it goes to a local cop its most likely covered up.

This is coming from someone who was brought up on charges for witness intimidation, tampering with evidence, drunk and disorderly, DUI, harassment, aggravated assault, and so forth. Then he found a shyster lawyer who squeezed him through a loop-hole. Yet he's on here saying how corrupt the Lawrence Township Police Department is? Can we say pot calling the kettle black?

Let's take a look at dear Mr. Houser's past, shall we?

Houser is involved in a fight at the Day's Inn, gets charged, drives in a patrol car out of the township to harass the person who was going to testify against him. Then he tries to break into the police chief's office to get at the police reports. In comes the shyster lawyer. Houser gets off

Instead of learning his lesson, Houser continues to drink like a fish and surprise, he's in trouble again for getting into a fight with his girlfriend. For whatever reason, she refuses to testify and Houser slides his slippery ass out of trouble again.

So this is the point where most people would have said, gee, I narrowly got my ass out of the sling again, maybe I'd better stay out of the bars. I can't hold my liquor and I act like a douche bag every time I drink so maybe I'd better lay off the booze.

Nope..Houser gets drunk again, breaks into the ex-girlfriend's house and beats the hell out of the guy she was with.

While what he's saying may or be not be true, given Houser's track record, if he wasn't kicked out of the police department for all the crap he's pulled, he'd be right there at the drinking parties and shooting the guns and driving the cars out of the township right along side the rest of them.

You're a scumbag Houser so don't come on here and try to play the great white hero by saying all this stuff is going on in the police department and you are an innocent little lamie-lamb and never did anything that was wrong. Chances are you know this is going on because you were right there doing it with them.

If you know and have proof that all of this is going on and you did nothing, you're just as guilty as they are.

As for "knowing about the law because you studied it for four years," you might want to dust off some of those old criminology books and read the chapter which outlines what happens to people on probation with a no alcohol clause who are still going out drinking with their buddies behind closed doors. You'd better hope your probation officer doesn't find out what you're up to.

Amen!!!!!!!!!! I agree with your piece a thousand percent. Why? Because that drunken ex cop busted a guy I know well for DUI shortly before his little episode at the Days Inn.

Was the guy guilty? Sure was!!!!! Did Houser give the guy a lecture on the evils of drink? Sure did.

What a frigging hypocrite
