Funny how he never had any input until he decided to run for representative. NOW he has a comment on everything so he can to get his name in print! Typical.

Far too lazy for that...remember not to long ago when all three of our glorious commissioners signed the letter against the power plant (requiring stiffer water temp regs) And then pretty much belittled it's importance compared to the wonderful ethanol plant..suckers of cock, the lot of them..

Wow we will be booming with the benifits a cooler river is going to give us . The revenue the county will be bringing in from the clean river as Commissioner John Sobel stated the West Branch of the Susquehanna River is an important recreational and economic asset to the county . Sobel is so concerned about this , but he walk's his dog and leaves it crap in others yards without cleaning it up . Hopefully they will all look for work soon !

The Case Against Mark McCracken

It’s no surprise Mark McCracken announced his candidacy for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 74th District so soon after Camille “Bud” George announced his decision to not seek reelection. This is the moment that McCracken has been waiting for all his political life.
Make no mistake about it; he has truly led a “political life”. His entire career has been spent as a government employee. He has never held a “real” job. On the campaign trail he’ll lie to you and tell you that he originally worked in the private sector, but don’t believe him. The only “real” job he held in his entire life was with a company that went bankrupt shortly after he began working there. It doesn’t seem like a smart decision to go to work for a failing company, but this is the decision made by Mark McCracken. This is the decision made by the man who wants you to elect him to be our voice in Harrisburg.“Someone representing the 74th District who doesn’t make wise decisions.”. Does this sound like anyone we know? We might as well start calling him Mark “Bud” McCracken right now.
McCracken has spent his entire career living off of other people’s taxes. He’s never had to worry about paying for health insurance, because you and I have always paid his health insurance in full. His workday has always begun sometime between 8:30 and 9 a.m. He has always enjoyed a paid one-hour lunch break that sometimes extends to two hours if he has personal business to attend to. He has always gone home at 4:30 p.m. He has never produced anything tangible in his career. He’s never provided a service that a customer would pay for. The only thing he has ever produced is paperwork and headaches for the workingman. He’s out of touch with the real world. He is a career politician. He doesn’t understand what it’s like for you and me. Is this the person you want representing you in the state capitol?
Let’s look at McCracken’s political career. He was elected to Clearfield School board, where he served for a relatively short period of time, until two county commissioners decided to not run for reelection. McCracken campaigned for county commissioner while he was supposed to be serving the taxpayers of the Clearfield School District as a school board member. When he was elected county commissioner, he quit the Clearfield School Board. Shortly after being elected Clearfield County Commissioner, U.S Representative John Peterson announced he would not seek reelection for his seat in Congress. This time, McCracken campaigned for U.S. House of Representatives while he was supposed to be serving the taxpayers of Clearfield County as a commissioner. McCracken won the nomination on the Democratic ballot, but was defeated by Republican Glen Thompson. Now, McCracken will be campaigning for PA House of Representatives while he is supposed to be serving the taxpayers of Clearfield County as a commissioner. Think about that for a minute. We, the taxpayers of Clearfield County, have been paying this man’s yearly salary, along with his full health insurance; so he can actively campaign for other jobs. Mark McCracken will tell you on the campaign trail that he is the candidate of the people, who will help us. But, his record shows that the only one he’s interested in helping is himself.
Can Clearfield County afford to elect a career politician to represent us in Harrisburg? The answer is “NO”, and that’s why we can’t afford to elect Mark McCracken to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 74th District.

well now we know what we have for commisioners??????? 3 nut cases that were re-elected so they can lose more jobs for the clearfield area. now all of you people who voted for these clowns to keep them in office, how do you feel now?????? please someone tell me just what have they done to bring jobs to clearfield? the ethanol plant? maybe we can open up a fish hatchery now that penelec is moving out. all the commissioners and that idiot bressler from curwensville can run it. think people this all started when they were complaining about fish dying from the water down by the plant. i fished there for years and caught many fish including last fishing season, when we were told all of the fish were going to die because of penelec. DOES ANYONE REALLY KNOW WHAT THE IMPACT OF CLOSING THIS PLANT IS GOING BE???? IT IS GOING TO BE DEVASTATING TO SAY THE LEAST. WAIT AND SEE. AS FRED PIZELLA USED TO SAY "THINK ABOUT IT"

Penelec is the former owner and operator of the Shawville Station so what do they have to do with anything?

genon--you are right but they could fight for it to stay open and they did not support penelec against the dead fish nuts. it is part of their job to get and KEEP BUSINESS in clearfield area. i am not looking to argue i just do not want clearfield to completely shut down.

If they would have announced the Shawville plant closing before last years election we would have 3 different commissioners than we have now!

I don't think the water temps are really a problem. I don't know why after over 50 years in operation and following the rules set up for them in regards to discharge, all the sudden the county commissioners got a bug up their ass about it.

There is a campaign to get people to petition our county commissioners and Bud George, the 4 people who were against the plant before.

What makes you think he’ll do any better as State Representative of the 74th District?
NOTHING
Mark McCracken is the NOTHING candidate
Say NO to Mark McCracken
Mark is actually quite accomplished at licking Bud George's boots, and the occasional polishing of his taint.

I guess the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce is endorsing the liberal democrat as their choice.
