The fire at the house by the bar started because the dingbat that lived there put a pan of grease on the stove and left it turned on. Kinda like the dumbss that burnt the house down on locust street a few years ago.<quoted text>
Investigators took the stove from the apartment and determined it was faulty and started the fire. Quigley tried to blame it on the tenant and failed. I'm sure investigators will be just as thorough with this current Quigley fire.

Do some homework before donating to these fire victims. Squatters ,druggies and thieves... Give them stuff for the kids, but cash will be wasted.

Police & Sheriff there on a regular basis, don't confuse generosity and compassion with reality. Some people just suck.

The building was safe to live in, otherwise, it would have been posted as being condemned. Why do people lie so much? Two families, equating to two women, one male, one female teen, three boys and one girl all under seven were displaced. Thers some lady named Kim and her wild crew that was evicted because of her own doing and they shouldn't have been in the property. It's this Kim lady that's always had the cops called on her with alot of drug activity going on. The two families I described before never caused trouble, and just because they may not have alot of money doesn't mean they would waste anything given to them. To make statements like that without knowing the people or situation is wrong. I'm sure alot of the money raised will go to Ethans. It is a very popular and well liked local establishment.

And I don't want to make false assumptions about the cause of the fire, but I know for a fact that someone close with the evicted drug lady named Kim stood downtown on sunday telling people on the street lies about the building being condemned and that it was an electrical failure. Why would someone go to that great length unless they hated Quigley or had something to cover up? It's Something to think about. This Kim lady, by the way, received $900 in gift cards from the Red Cross when all of her belongings were already in storage. But don't blame her bad actions on the other two families I described. I think the community pulling together to help all of the tenants is A wonderful thing.

The proof is with the tenant. Ask norm. It wasn't a faulty stove. You're feeding into one of the trash in-takers on this one. Don't fall a victim of stupidity.

Probably wise to hold off on donating until somebody explains how donations will be distributed . And yes, that would mean a source other than Topix...

I agree with you completely... I was just stating that a charity dinner usually isn't set-up to help an established business.

Unless you have a vested interest in the contents of the apartments, no proof will be shown to nosy busybodies from Topix. I don't post anything that isn't true.

SERIOUSLY!! I am sleeping in my own bed quite comfortably thank you and I will not address your remarks of coldheartedness. I give to charities (several of them...each month) and to my church. I help the needy...not the lazy, the greedy and the helpless!! I work very hard for what I have and don't ask for handouts. It's called PRIDE and responsibility...which leads me back to my point that they should have had insurance. You're welcome!!

Yeah, our noble Topix do-gooder has a habit of leaving trails to nowhere about being in charge of other people's generosities...
