Can't say I follow the local scene nowadays so help a fellow riffmeister catch a few locals with talent. Hell, I might even sit in for a set.

Names? Bands? Where they play often?

I know Clearfield's best ever guitarist has long been gone, now. His name was Brad Schnarrs. Jerry Conklin was pretty strong, too.

Help an old rocker out. Don't be shy with your guitar collection if you have one. Brag here, also. I still love my '65 Gretsch Corvette the best.

Thanks in advance.

The best in Clearfield that I EVER knew was Mike Wigfield who played for Alibi back in the day. Someone else that is (or was) a great guitarist is Kenny Luzier who used to be from Curwensville. And yes, Chris Kane is an excellent axe man also!

Everyone that has been named are very good. But I think that everyone that plays should get credit. I tried to play and it's not easy.

There is no such thing as the best guitarist. I personally believe that i'm the fastest guitarist anywhere near here, but that doesn't make me the best. Chris Kane is awesome and Matt Day can out rhythm play me any day. It all just depends on what you like.

My new "brown buddy" neighbor is pretty good. At least from what I can hear in my living room.

I agree that there is no "best" guitarist. Like you said, it all depends on what you like!

Agreed that Mike Wigfield was wonderful. If I remember correctly and I might not be since it has been so long, he even wrote quite a few of his own music. But as someone else put it they all give it their all and it is not easy. Mike, Brandon, Garry Bortot, Jason Sopic they all kick as$. That band needs to make a comeback!!!! ;)

The late Jerry Confer was in my opinion one of the best to ever pick up an ax but it is a matter of what the public likes and your own personal tastes.

Steely Dan has Walter Becker, Led Zeppelin had Jimmy Page, Alvin Lee blew them away at Woodstock as did Hendrix.

Enjoy the music
