Anyone else noticing that basically all the employees at Mountain Laurel have been fired or asked to leave from elsewhere? Many of these employees are actually supervisors also. I would be ashamed to have my family in that place. Was there to visit a family friend and hearn a nurse hollering at a patient for continued bell ringing. Half way down the hall I could hear her loud and clear. The good nurses there seem to have left. The assistant director of nursing left and I heard hired right away at a prison. Must be doing something right. Wouldn't want someone at Mt. Laurel who actually knows what theyre doing. All the staff out there including the nurses are very inexperienced. It's like they hire the left overs that couldnt find jobs elsewhere. Also it seems to be the same problems over and over. Either they don't care to address them, or maybe the director doesn't realize it's actually a problem. I certainly wouldn't want someone who's as inexperienced managing the care of a loved one. It's just disgusting there. Very unprofesional. My family friend had asked for a medication and an hour later hadn't received it. Then asked if they could speak to the supervisor and was told they were busy at the time that they would have to wait. As I left the building I saw the supervisor sitting right our front smoking...thay were busy alreight. I understand everyone is entitiled to their break, but it doesn't quite seem fair that if you're a smoker you get to go out and have a smoke in addition to your break. It should be a tobacco free facility I think. Blessed to not have family there, but sad to see a good family friend there.

I know nothing about this facility and what you are saying may be accurate but if I was a betting man, I would bet that you were the assistant director at MT Laurel.

The nursing homes are all the same. There are some cna's that can walk in from day one and say were they are going to work and who with. The one will get ahead ache and go lay in a bed, while other ones pick up the slack.still scheduling overtime that is against the law,but until someone files a complaint, the state can't do an investigation.AND THIS ISN'T MT.LAUREL But if you have a complaint about patient care or neglect call the state.

First of all. I am not, never was, an employee at mt laurel. Secondly, the state is in and out of that place constantly but they fail to do anything about the problems. Anyone could pass an inspection when they're told to expect an inspection between these dates.and then all the sudden there is extra staff available, management there in the evenings, and as soon as the state leaves it's all back to how it was. I posted on here to see if anyone else in the area has had similar experiences with this facility. Not because I expected a solution from posting on Topix. I have written to the company that owns mountain laurel. Will see if I ever hear back though?

The big problem is that those jobs suck and the pay is low. How many jobs will provide you with free training if you agree to work for them.(Outside of the military)

Yes, those who can't get jobs anywhere else can get a job there. It is the same in and nursing home unless you are talking about high priced private ones.

There are a few who love the job and try to do their best but after so long picking up everyone else's slack they are gone.

O.K. You say that you never worked there. So why do you care? Why invest your time to introduce a new topic about a facility that you have no ties to? I know that you will say that you had a conversation with a friend or something like that but, come on, do you really expect people with normal intelligence to believe this? I just particularly liked the shout out you gave to the former MT Laural Assistant Director (whom you claim you don't know) and how you knew where she works now. If that person was so wonderful, then they would have found a way to put an end to the wrongful practices you accuse this place of conducting.

Had you read my first post you be aware that my interest stems from visiting a family friend there... I wouldn't consider that a "shout out" to anyone. It was simply questioning why they would fire a good nurse, and to prove she was a good nurse I mentioned where I heard she was from one of the care nurses that care for my family friend. I totally agree the jobs there are under paid and not the easiest. There are many working there who seem like they don't care about anyone there. But there are a few who take their time with the people they are assigned to. It would be hard to hold they workers to high standard when the problem starts at the top. There obviously isn't anyone to patrol the nurses when the supervisor is outside smoking visiting with his girlfriend for an house. As he was there when I came in and in the same spot when I left. As i said before a break is a break and everyone's entitled to it, however there is a line that is obviously not drawn at this place. I guess because i'm not a smoker i'm a little bias but even where i'm employeed, not medical by any means, however the smokers still get more breaks just to run outside and smoke while i'm stuck covering their work. It seems the same happens at this nursing home. One of the familys in a room down from our family friend has hired an additional care giver for their mother. Whom isn't even employeed by the nursing home. They weren't pleased with their mother never being able to get a nurse when needed so they hired additional help. They couldn't care for her at home any longer but isn't that what nursing homes are for? She certainly doesn't seem half as much busy as a lot of the people there do.

It says they have a job instead of collecting welfare. You must be a welfare collector
