everyone goes into nursing thinking they are going to make a difference and help people. after awhile u realize that nursing is actually just about how much money the hospital/dr office/nursing home can obtain. not only that but you are treated like a servant, and get blamed for everything. families and patients need to realize that us nurses are only following the doctors orders, managements rules, and the states regulations. so next time you want to yell at us because your meds changed then yell at the dr.. if you dont like your meal then yell at the kitchen.. if it takes a little longer to get your callbell answered because we are short staffed then yell at
management for scheduling us that way. bottom line is nursing is a very difficult job and doesnt need to b made more difficult and stressful by patients and families yelling at us nurses for things that are not in our control. whether you realize it or not, it is us nurses who are there to help you and we are doing the best that we can. we are the patients advocates, care givers, and often times the only faces that patients see . we only ask for some respect and for you to remember our jobs are stressful enough without getting yelled at as well.

that was very nice of you and your family but unfortunately that is not usually the case. you have no idea how nice it is to hear positive, kind, grateful words from patients and families. we get yelled at so frequently that we often wonder why we went into the medical field and when family or patient recognizes our hardwork and dedication it can change an awful shift into a good one.. so ty!

This is to u (its sad), Yes evidently every job has its down and ups, but you have no right judging others opinions on their expirence in the medical field.. Evidently you are not a nurse or never have evn worked in the field, cause you realize how hard a nurse and a CNA work... These people work their fingers to the bone.. As of me I have done both of theses jobs and it isn't as easy as you think it is.. Half the time time it isn't the patients, its family members like you that make are job very hard... Educate yourself on the subject before opening your mouth..... It takes a very special person to be a nurse, not just anyone can to it.... I appreciate every nurse out their for they are very caring and loving people..

. You really don't have a clue and should not bother commenting. Nursing is one of the most difficult jobs ...physically, emotionally, and mentally. Saving lives and healing people is what it is all about not to mention working under pressure is a criteria. No one is going to snap and kill someone. All we are saying is our job is stressful enough without having to deal with people like you. I'm sure you wouldn't know what its like to have a meaningful job that actually impacts a person's life as your job of flipping burgers does not provide any sort of importance or relevancy.. that is if you even have a job.

1. The labor movement never respected female workers.

2. Foreign nurses broke nursing strikes.

3. Church-based healthcare thinks healthcare is charity.

Don't worry, you're probably a bunch of American freeloaders with no health insurance. You'll be sent home quick and have to take care of your sick lil' ol selves, anyway.

i have worked as a nurse and it is hard but i would be online complaining. I think what that other person was saying is that its your job to deal with the people and i work with that person "its sad" and shes the hardest working nurse i have seen and NEVER complains.

Bottom line if you are doing the job in order to get "kudos" rather than the profession you are in it for the wrong reason. You chose the field. Knew it was tough. Passed the boards. Update your license. Why complain? All jobs are hard. That's why it's work. That's why you get paid. Most workers go unappreciated in most job fields. It's called life!!

I would rather work as a nurse than work as a theif. It is a noble thankless job but it pays the bills. I love 80% of it , hate 30% it . Blah blah. Blah. It is a job for smart people. It is physically, mentally and emotionally draining. Document document document. It will save your ass.
