What a tragedy. The family is in my prayers. This is why all citizens should have the right to arm and protect themselves and their loved ones. Nothing can prevent a criminal from obtaining a weapon but we can all act as a deterrent if we practice safe and responsible gun ownership. Get a permit, practice and carry to protect yourselves.

Just goes to show... sh!t like this can happen anywhere. Big city, small town. Anywhere. It also goes to show that guns dont kill people. People kill people. No gun laws or bans will ever stop it. But then again, had the shooter surviced, his lawyer would have just claimed he was insane and didnt know what he was doing. As I stated in a previous post... if you can pick up a gun, load it, aim it at somebody, and pull the trigger, you know exactly what the f&*k you are doing. Screw these mentally incapacited claims. Make the killer suffer just as his/her victim(s) did. No life sentence... immediate death penalty! Oh, im sure somebody will come on here and claim that it would be cruel punishment. Well to all you people, how cruel was it to the victim?

Considering the circumstances over the last few months, he should not have had possession of his guns.

What's that matter when many of these shootings end in suicide? He should not have had access to a gun, considering his history, the PFA and charges against him.

It doesnt matter concerning somebodys history, the PFA, or the charges against him. If somebody wants a gun, they are going to get a gun. Its just like heroin, crystal meth, etc... if somebody wants it, they can and will get it! No law or ban is going to prohibit anybody from getting anything they want. A person under the age of 21 isnt allowed to purchase or possess alcohol, but they manage to get it. A person under the age of 18 isnt allowed to purchase cigarettes, yet they manage to get them. What effect will bans and tougher laws have on guns?

You are right about that! He shouldn't have even been out. Check out Stacy Parks Miller's Facebook post. She put it out there like it is. I would be interested in knowing which judge it was.

Actually he shouldn't have been let out on bail. He would have killed his wife with whatever he could. Chair, foot, knife, poison, fist, glass. a gun was easier.

Good point. It's a tough call considering he's innocent until proven guilty and has a right to reasonable bail. There aren't many cases when someone is held without any bail at all, are there? Idk... this is a tough call. But I do believe that the sheriff should have been knocking on his door to take possession of his guns.

Domestic violence is a serious problem. I used to volunteer to help victims. It makes the problem worse when people abuse the system and try to file fake PFAs. I think the judges hold a lot of difficult responsibility to provide fair treatment and at the same time weed through the bs cases to pinpoint the serious ones and make good decisions. I'm sure the judge in this case didn't sleep well lastnight.
