Who is the best "family doctor" in Mo...

When you go see Dreama Rucker, do you actually get to see her or do you have to see a PA or NP? It seems like when I take my son to a DOCTOR'S appointment and when I request a doctor they always stick us with a PA or NP.

That's funny. I prefer seeing Jennifer (NP) and am upset if she has no openings and I have to see Dreama. I have nothing against Dreama, I just really like Jennifer. If you don't mind waiting for an appointment, you can specify whomever you choose. But if it is short notice, you get whichever one has an opening.

Most people like Dr. Wiegel, but he is expensive and some has so many patients that he has 3 assistance. But others have a dim view of him when elderly patients get sick- some love him, some dislike him due to how he practices on his oldest patients, as some family members have let their views known here about that. But all in all he has to be one of the more popular doctors if you have good insurance and can get to see him, as he has A LOT of patients. Be ready for long waits, but he does take a lot of time with each patient and has a great bed side manner. Just avoid talking politics with him, as he has ran for office.
Agreed! How can anybody disagree with this post? For crying out loud my mother has been his patient for like ten years, the post quoted is right on the money. I have seen and heard this stuff first hand. The quoted post is 100% correct.

Be careful going to the clinic by the hospital. There are some good doctors, but they charge a doctor's fee, and then St. Claire bills another charge, near the doctor's charge, for the use of the facility. St. Claire now owns the clinic, and they want as much money as possible. Insurance companies do not pay all of this, and it is the patient's responsibility. Of course, if it is a medical card, I'm sure it won't matter.
this happened to me i had endo. at hospital i had to pay the clinic $200.00 for, on top of all my office co-pay's

You might want to try Wendy Fletcher at Health Plus. She is pretty easy to get in to see, she holds a few walk in spots open each day for emergencies. She is a Nurse Practitioner, the Health Plus clinic is hers and she has recently brought in a couple others, as well. She is quite up on current medical issues. I've gone to her for several years and she's good.
No, don't see her. She has an attitude!!!!!

That's too far away for a family doctor. I generally go to Lexington for specialists, but I can't go to Lexington every time I am sick.
I go to Lexington for most things. I want to see specialists who know what they are doing. It's not too far when it means a difference between life and death!!!!! Convenience shouldn't matter. It's the care that matters.

Yep, he'd prescribe what you asked for. Probably still does if he is still practicing. If you have anything major wrong, run elsewhere for your own benefit.

Dr.weigel is the dumbest and most heartless Dr. I have ever encountered. I hope he loses his license and goes to jail for the grief he has gave my family

U need to find someone who you feel comfortable with. If its an annual physical or a cold/flu or common issue any of the local docs are fine. If you need special care for a more elevated concern, make a visit and then ask for a referral to a specialist.

My doc is Dr. Weigel, though I never see him. I always see a P.A., which is okay, I guess, but I'm still paying to see an actual medical doctor. The follow up isn't as good as it good be.
