This is regarding the articles about the stolen arm and leg in Iowa. Although I was never contacted by the prosthetic doctors asking if I wanted to speak out about this insedent I was contacted by them stating my arm had been stolen. Yes it was mine. I had waited 30 years to recieve my arm. I had it for a week and it needed some adjustments at Tom's office and it got stolen before I could get it back. Until now at the age of 30 I did not have insurance that covered a prosthetic so I just learned to cope with my disability. And no matter where I moved I was denied Social Security as well. Actually I am now on a over 3 year process trying to appeal Social security's decisions...but nothing yet. I guess missing part of my arm and having no hand isn't enough for them. While people everyday that don't deserve it , get it. As if it's not hard enough being a mother of two with a disability.. I also have a son with a disability.
But I'm getting off the subject of my arm. At first I was amused that anyone would steal my arm and the other woman's leg... after a day or two to think about I felt quite violated. I mean after so many years of waiting I finally had it and then it was gone. I tell you if they catch the person/s responsible I plan onpressing charges. Thank you for listening to my comments on the matter.
