I'm not sure. Because if you remember in some of my posts, I stated that not all unions are bad--just most of them.
Unions (like many other things) were fine until they go too big and too powerful. It's one thing to protect their members, and quite another thing when it's unions who decide who gets hired, who gets fired, who gets promoted, how much a person will make based on union demands and not the workers skill.
Hostess is closed now. Why? Because of one union. Sorry, but that's just too powerful for me. No union should have the ability to do that.
Taking a page from the xxx book, here's a vignette:

I travel the interstates quite frequently in my work, and have occasion to have interaction with truckers driving all types of trucks. I've personally seen and read about them causing accidents resulting in the deaths and serious injuries of innocent people, including children, all because they are too stupid to pay attention to their jobs.

Instead of watching the road, people end up dead because they're talking on cell phones, reading the newspaper, watching porn and masturbating, receiving fellatio from truck stop whores, eating fried chicken, popping amphetamines and percocets, and a whole host of other activities that take their attention away from their work, making them a menace to others on the road. Then, when government steps in and imposes reasonable regulations upon them to address these issues, these out of control tattooed truckers whine and pout like children placed in a corner by mommy.

Mind you, I know its hasn't always been this way, and there is surely a professional, sober driver scattered here and there around the country, but this is what I have personally seen, read about, and been told about by my friends. The good ones are few and far between, and the trucking industry has simply gotten too big for its britches.

From this, I have concluded that all freight should travel only by rail, and by oxcart only upon two lane thoroughfares.

Yeah, it was the unions.

That God you got is a fancy God
He's not the one I know
He don't live in parking lots
Outside of monster homes.
My God ain't in the government,
He don't put on a big show.
That God you got is a fancy God
He's not the one I know.

My God lives on gravel roads
And goes down in the hollers.
Goes down and saves the souls
Of your very sons and daughters
Your crystal meth and your cocaine breath
Tingling to your toes
That God you got is a fancy God
He's not the one I know
That God you got is a fancy God
He's not the one I know

Fred Eaglesmith - Truckers Speed

G D
I got her letter in an old mail box
C
I forgot at I had at a little truck stop
G D
And I read it once and read it again
C
I could hardly keep from cryin

I've been driving around the last week or so
With and empty truck I don't have a load
I don't care cause to tell you the truth
I think I might be dyin

G D
And it's trucker speed, benzedrine
C
Percocets and amphetamines
G D C
Black beautys and west coast turn arounds
G D
When the coast is clear I drive with my knees
C
I mix it all up like a recipie
G D C
Coca-cola and coffee to wash it down
G D C
Sometimes I feel like my wheels ain't touching the ground

At the side of the road he said you're a mess
When I told him she didn't leave an address
Then he got another call said wait right here
I'll be back in a little while
I put my head across my arms
Slept on the wheel for an hour or more
And I started it up and took off into the night

Chorus

I've been high-centered, low throttle
When I couldn't stop I peed in a bottle
I've been so lonesome I made hank willaims
Look like a party of five
I've been beat up broke down
Load it on a truck and drive it to town
I always thought she'd be there at the end of the line
I always thought she'd be there at the end of the line

Chorus

So does yours. Pre-school children? How about children right up to the age of 18? How about those schools that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner?

But oh, we only want to talk about pre-school children. That way, objecting to government dependent children sounds worse.

Truck Accident Statistics
Over the past two decades, the number of truck accidents has increased by 20%. According to the Federal Motor carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), in 2002, 4,897 individuals died and 130,000 people were injured in crashes that involved a large truck. And even though large trucks are only responsible for 3% of injury-causing motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents typically cause much greater harm than ordinary traffic accidents due to the large size and heavy weight of most trucks.

Society depends on trucks to deliver their goods. What society doesn't need are lawyers. Get rid of them all.

Boner is Proposing the Ryan Budget, which 54% of the country voted against. Then during a brain fart he says he NOW wants to propose the offer that he made to Obama right before they voted aginst raising the debt ceiling. Too late for that Boner.
It's like 'K, you won Obama, now what r u gonna give us?'
Maybe he can be more realistic after first of the year when TeaBaggers are not poking him in the ass with their pitchforks.

This is the closest thing I could find to any GOP proposal.

Frankly, I hope the GOP continues this stance. When everyone's taxes go up because the GOP won't reduce them just to protect the 1%, they will have taken another giant step toward political irrelevance. We will have to suffer for a couple years, but then the house cleaning will begin.
