The paper gave an account of a city of Dayton worker in the "IT" dept. that just won a reverse discimination lawsuit against the city for about 175,000 dollars.

I think the city of Trotwood would be next if someone had the nerve to file a suit. Everyone knows the city "scraped" a test when only a white guy passed it. The city then hired a officer named Swint who was involved with a missing girl out of Indiana. Whemn someone informed the paper..he was released. Trotwood residents don't be fools for your government they are a joke!

Quincy Pope is the chief of police. What has he done to improve the quality of living and cut the crime rate? What new equipment has been bought? How about manpower? Has he closed the bars on Salem where shootings have happened also?
Swint was hired because he was a friend of Popes I heard.Swints background check was also ordered stopped by someone higher up. The city manager said they stand by the hiring practices..then he should go! I have never seen such poor management in all my life.Other depts. talk about Trotwood pd and its not good.
Several command officers and others found out the hard way that Trotwood was less than fair. Dan Swafford who was going to run for chief against Quincy found out and had to go to Vandalia.Of course some in Trotwood say he wasn't qualified.
I don't know the exact number now but about 15 officers have left to go to other departments.Trotwood is going down fast and I can't wait too see the mall project go down the tubes because the city leaders are too stupid to get it up and running. Its not hard to reach my opinion after the things I know to be true.

Well..it didn't take long.I said that the city fathers would muck up again. I also stated that it would involve the Salem mall project. I knew this because everything the city does is messed up. They really can't find their way around any issue without involving "dirty pool".

taxpayers of TRotwood are getting soaked!

I read an article about Chicago police dept.doing away with an entrance exam to get more minorities. The dept. would only review applications with no test.Applicants would have to have a high school diploma or GED.
I think Trotwood is a fine city to adopt this hiring practice. They could save money and recruit as many minorities as they like. They could hire who they wanted without fear of a lawsuit!
They could also seal any felony convictions on their hires.Trotwood could start the untested recruits at a lower rate until they can prove they can do the job!!
This could be like an accelerated college course. I can't wait until the city fathers try this!

Its why nobody replies...they know I'm right. Trotwood has lost more talent than they will ever recover. I know that they let officers go that have since made outstanding arrests on other depts.

I know morale is bad on Trotwood. The officers there now are "looking" for another dept or are simply too old to go elsewhere. I wish them luck because change is in the air.

The recent scandels about back taxes and the mayor may wake the citizens of Trotwood up. Hiring practices need to change and the city manager who said " we stand behind our hiring practices" when Swint was hired should go. I hope the union gets better along with the now hostile work enviroment. After all it's a new year.

Well..I told you about Swint on Dec.6,2009 on a previous post on this page.I now want to know how much Trotwood knew about his background and when they knew it? Why did they stop his background check? Maybe someone should ask the chief of police about this.

I was told that Richmond police informed Trotwood about Swint but Trotwood kept him on because he wasn't under indictment. It wasn't until the ddn broke the story that Trotwood released him or he would have worked until he was indicted...thats what i heard and it was because he was friends with chief Pope.

Note to Trotwood: Complete background check on police applicants.#2: Ask applicant if they have committed murder anytime in their lifetime?#3 If answered yes..reject applicant and call authorities in the proper venue.

I bet the public is so proud of the Trotwood command!

Does Trotwood still hold their accredidation status? Who tipped off Swint as police closed in? Why was Swints background stopped in its tracks during his hiring process?

All these quetions need to be addressed by the police chief and city manager.

Hello fans! It's been a while but new information (or rumor) has surfaced about Trotwood! Imagine that!

I heard that the police department may be taken over by the Sheriffs office. What will the Sheriffs office do with the highly trained upper management(LMAO)? I think they may be gone.I'll be standing by to keep you posted as people should be aware of their most recent foul-ups.

Trotwood has a couple of problems I see coming up.First,i heard that the county has already picked out the cars in the Trotwood fleet they want to keep.
Second,I heard that Capt.Wilson was living with Swint at the time of the murder of the radoi dj "Brooks" in Catalpa apartments. When will the FBI talk to Wilson? Not that Wilson is quilty of anything but it needs to be:above board" on this investigation.
Third,I heard the SO will keep patrolman and "let go" the upper management.Well They have no contract and work and the plesure of the chief.I hope they can find another department for it is not the job of the SO to place these management people

I heard that chief Pope and captain Wilson have let their homes to be forclosed.I also heard that Pope is not paying his school loans at Wright state.I also heard he wants Trotwood to pay for the rest of his education. Apparently he is looking out for himself in spite of all the money trouble and possible lay-offs by the city. I think he is planning for the day he is without a job in Trotwood..it is looming

I know the mayor is new.I just hope she isn't becoming a ryhming revernd with the "walk&talk"stuff .I think Trotwood needs to get officails to "run for fun" and get elected and bring new ideas.

Cutting property taxes will attract business which in turn will bring in monies with the RESONABLE taxes they pay..along with the taxes employees will pay. This money could be used to hire police and fire changing the cities image of being corrupt and crime infested. THIS BRING PEOPLE BACK TO THE CITY WHERE THEIR TAXES ARE LOW.You see business is profit driven. they must make profit and not just pay taxes or they will leave.

history shows us that when government cuts taxes their coffers fill up. when taxes are raised you get Trotwood,Detroit,D.C. etc...

I have written several pieces on the city of Trotwood in the past several months telling what I was told and what was printed in the paper. No replies. I guess Trotwood is too small to care about or people have given up on it.

The only way to save Trotwood is to cut taxes and attract business with a reasonable property tax.Property taxes are simply too high.Until this is done Trotwood will be in serious decline. The tax and spend model has never worked.

The department heads will take all they can and the city will die.
