With all the growth taking place and all the shopping centers going up, what's the truth?

I've lived in Sicklerville for 10 years and I can't believe this is a question! I have wonderful neighbors, fantastic schools and am appalled that people think so low of this town. Do you actually LIVE here or are you going by rumors? Shut up if you don't live here!

Sicklerville is becoming 'Camden East' for the most part. Some of it is very nice. The low rent districts give the whole area a bad name. They should have a new zipcode for it.

sicklerville has its nice parts and bad parts definately. It has $300,000 homes and trailer parks all in one. I wouldn't live here if I didn't have too. I'd give it a 4 out of 10

I've lived here for 23 years, and would have moved out 18 years ago, if I'd had my way. I'm luckier than others, I live in a nice neighborhood. I'm actually in Cedar brook, which borders the "bad" section of Sicklerville. I sent my children to private school to keep them out of the public schools here, which, costs my husband and I a small fortune, but we felt it had to be done for them. I know plenty of good kids from the school district, but there was always something going on in the schools. Mostly the high school, of course. My daughter married recently and moved out of state, and I'm so happy for her. I've seen the decline in this area over the years, the most recent being the fastest and worse. Just hoping I can get my husband to get us out of here before property values deplete! If I had a young family, no way would I move them here.

okay, i will say Sicklerville isn't like a upscale community; it is half and half some areas are bad but then again its not truly a bad area. the schools aren't horrible. i attend them. its not many REAL gangs lol its just suburban kids claiming they are gangster when they really aren't . Sicklerville is no where near West Philadelphia. Its a nice place to live.

Well I live here in a nice part of town and last night we heard gun shots and asked ourselves what is happening to our town. There are some rough and direspectful kids around now. I am not sure if its just a sign of the times but after 6 years I am considering a move.
Though I have to say after growing up in Lindenwold, Sicklerville in comparison is great.

We have lived in Sicklerville for 25 years. Sicklerville is a wonderfully diverse town in which we have raised our family. My three children attended the public schools and had fabulous experiences; my youngest graduated Winslow High School as 2007's Valedictorian and now attends the University of Maryland in their Neurobiology/Pre-Med program. My other children both graduated from Rutgers- New Brunswick, and have great jobs. The press this town has received is disgraceful!! We have never had a problem in our neighborhood, the schools, or the community.
Your neighborhood/schools/community are what you make of them. We believe the people who bash this community have a problem with a diversity. We are proud to have raised our family to be color blind and judge people by who they are not the color of their skin. Don't listen to what you hear. Make your own decisions. I am proud to live among this diverse community! Jill

I currently live in Sicklerville and have never had a problem. It's a beautiful area, with lots of kids and schools.

The only thing is lately there has been a lot of tearing down of trees for shopping centers and it's just making it seem like the Promenade on Rt73.

Otherwise it's an absolutely wonderful town.

I grew up in Erial and worked at Timber Creek HS for many years. I must say that I believe it is a nice place to live and raise your children. I always laughed at people that would say bad things about the high school because they have never even stepped foot into the school! Many kids that I know have wonderful high school experiences and go off to great colleges.

I lived in a nice neighborhood with great neighbors. There have also been many new stores and shopping centers built in town as well as a Promenade with some upscale shopping.

To even compare this town to Camden is a complete joke.

Hello, I have lived in Erial for over thirteen years. I've had nothing but good experiences here. The town is very nice. Crime is low. Property taxes are high, but there is a trade off. The schools are great. My son received a full scholarship to college from attending Timber Creek HS and playing football. I feel very safe here. If someone heard gunshots, it was probably because there are outside gun ranges here. Also, people do own guns, but it is rare to hear that someone was shot here. This is a great place to raise your family.. This is a beautiful area. Wherever you live there will be low- income housing, this is the way America is designed. The median cost of a home in the area, I think is expensive with the taxes included. It took a while for me to get used to the area because it is so rural. Donít move here if you donít like drivingÖeverything is a drive.

Sicklerville is a dicotomy just like the state of NJ. In all areas of the state you will find subsidized housing next to $500,000 homes. If you live in cherry hill, its the same problem; the affluent ourounded by the poor. My biggest issue with sicklerville is not the ghetto of farmhouse road but the constant eradicating of trees, wildlife and farmland to build more comercial property and shopping, which has create a horrific traffic situation. The Gloucester Township Cops are the absolute worst and would be another reaon to move out of his town
