I don't understand how this deals saves us money.I live in unincorporated st louis county. We are paying more out of pocket with less service. Prior to this contract we were able to chose who we wanted the pick-up our trash. I had mid-west waste. I paid less and my trash was picked up twice per week. And they responded when I had a problem. With Veolia, we pay more, they are also subsidized by the county, we only have trash pick-up once per week and yard wast once per week, and we we get very rude responses from customer service. I had to call the county representative 5-6 times over a 4 month period to have an issue resolved.

My trash bill decreased and I got more service- recycling. I think it's been a great success. And the trash guys aren't subsidized by the county-

I don't know where he came up with the amount of saving 6 million. Our bill before the take over was less. Then we moved and our subdivision is small and they where able to luckily "opt" out of the forced trash program. Thankfully I pay less and have better service then I would have under Dooleys program. This is just one example of why Dooley is not right for the County. If he could actually find places to save money - the county employees, police, etc could actually have even a cost of loving raise. I can't wait until election time!

If this cuts down on trash trucks, how come we now have multiple haulers (not contracted with us) using our sub division as a turn around point. I continue to call the haulers, but they just keep coming. This is a joke Mr. Dooley.
I'd like to know who's lining your pockets.

This program has been GREAT. To save money, I had to give up recycling previously with MidWest Waste, and I had to go down to one pickup per week. This program has saved me money, AND added recycling back in. Thanks, Charley. GOOD JOB!

p.s. I don't understand how ANYONE could be paying more than before when it was a competitive bidding process.

From what I hear, the County is strapped just like the state. These people should STOP so that the County doesn't have to pay out money to defend themself. We could lose services and programs due to frivolous lawsuits from soar losers.

A citizen with all their teeth would have made a better case and interviewee.

The County did good. Thanks for making our subdivisions less noisy, with only one company picking up.

I love it, and so do my neighbors. We are saving money and have less heavy truck traffic in the subdivision.

Check your facts - they have already raised their rates once - and we got a letter
they will raise them in 2010 AGAIN!

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Virgo

A loved one is really chatty today, and they won't really know when to shut up. This is great if you don't have anything better to do than to listen to them running on, but won't be such good news if you've got one eye on the clock all the time. Mind you, you won't exactly have taken a vow of silence yourself, particularly when it comes to talking about domestic matters.
