Dumb spellings for children's names

Why don't people give kids normal names with normal spellings anymore? On this forum, I just read about a baby GIRL named Kyndal. KENDALL, to me, is the proper spelling for A BOY. I've also seen Kenadie, Tacey, Jace, Jayden. I think people just throw letters together anymore and say "oh, that's pretty and different!" and go with it.
I know a little girl whose middle name is "Richel." It's pronounced like "Rachelle," but it doesn't look that way. Why do people do this? Can't people give their children normal names anymore?
And yes, I have a normal, traditionally spelled name, as does my husband, and we don't have children - by choice.

I agree... although considering I have a little cousin named Jace, I must say I have a fondness for that way. And I don't care how you spell the name Jayden, I am sick to death of it.(And I think it is a wussy name for a boy anyway).
Here are some more I found on another site.
Marrie, Marey, pronounced Marie
Leondra- a boy, pronounced Leon-Dray
Deondra- a boy, prounounced Deon-Dray
Crystal, Cristel, Kristel, Cristyl, and infinite variations.
Shennel and Channel- both pronounced "Chanel"
And here are just some truly stupid names and/or spellings.
Laroux (pronouced La-Roo)
I try not to make fun of anything ethnic, but come on people! Use your brains!
