I have all kinds of toys still in the original packaging. Does anyone know where a good place would be to donate these to for Christmas? Thanks

Call Clinch Valley Community Action in Tazewell and they may be able to connect you with people that take toys and give them to needy children. I think the place is Labor of Love.

The Gift of Love at Oakwood might could use those to give to children when they have their yearly Christmas Dinner for the poor.
(I think they still have it).
You could contact someone at a local school to see who is in charge of their program that provides christmas items to needy children and see if they could use them.
Or you could check with one of the malls that have the "angel tree", and see if they could use some toys to help complete their lists for kids.
You could find out who is in charge of local "toys for tots" campaign to see if they could use them.

Just some ideas I had that you may choose to consider.

You could get angels off the angel tree when they put it up.

That's a nice idea.
Remember when local tv news did a segment on Angel Tree last year and reported how much the donations for it had dropped, there were so many Angels still left on the tree very close to Christmas.
We could only assume that it will be that way or worse this year because people are still struggling from the economic downturn/crisis/ mess.

That is a good idea. It is so sad to think of a child at Christmas not getting a toy for Christmas. I know toys aren't the meaning of Christmas but to kids toys are a big thing to them. I would love to be able to give something to all the children out there that doesn't have anything. I am like everyone else I live pay day to pay day to make it through. But you are a kind person doing this for kids.

The company that I work for did a promotion a couple years ago that our customers received discounts on their merchandise if the brought in a new unwrapped toy and at the end of that I called Social Services and a lady came and picked up what we had. Just another idea.

There is a group located in Cedar Bluff called Women-N-Touch who helps the needy and they help the working people who are struggling but still trying to work. I am sure they could use them. You can reach them by calling at nine six three two eight zero nine. This lady will tell you how to get in touch with them.

It is nice of everyone to think about the children. The little ones don't understand why they aren't getting a toy for Christmas.

I also have some nice toys that are in good condition that I would be willing to donate and could also buy some new ones to donate as well.

I hope you are never in need because with all the nasty posts you put on Topix, no one will help you.

I do, however, agree with what you say about parents buying cigarettes and beer, but it is not the child's fault that their parents are idiots.

Why in the world do you have to start trash like that in a post like this? That is just downright childish. I hope your kids if you have any are never in the position to need donations. But then again yo uprobably wouldnt allow them todo that now would you.
