I attended Sanford Brown in St Louis, Mo. In 1993 when they started their 1 yr bridge program for nurses. i did not complete the course. I noticed instructors with new degrees in various areas none soley in nursing. They were unable to teach the necessary courses. I attended 5 months. Three friends attended also 3 finished 2 passed state board. I am happy to see others recognized this problem. I repayed over 6,000.00 in student loans which really hurt me it took 2yrs. I feel for those who were in deeper than I.

Absolutely do not consider an educational route that is not from an accredited program. Check thoroughly before you sign up. Consider community colleges instead, which is much much cheaper and are given by accredited professors.

I graduated from Sanford Brown College in March 2005 and never found a job in my field of study which was Network Administration. My balance before I graduated was a little over $760. I was told by financial services that the $760 would go towards reducing my ammount on my loans but I never received any confirmation that the money actually did that. The IT students weren't offered an internship either. We were sent out into the world without the experience that we would need to get a great job. I am now back in school again trying to get a career but in a different field of study, which is Medical Billing and Coding. I would never recommend anyone to go to any of the CEC schools.

I am currently in the fashion merchandising program at Sanford Brown and recently read the lawsuit against them filed by former students and found that the same things were told to me during the admissions process which makes me wonder when I graduate in April 2008 will my degree be worthless and will I be able to go on to earn my BA.

I live in Philadelphia and my Daughter was taken in by these people. After 4 days of school she realized the scam and now they have sent the creditors after her for $828.00.?? We have called for a few years trying to resolve this matter (which they told us just write a letter and we will take care or it.) She almost wasn't hired because of her bad credit thanks to these people. IT'S A SCAM GET YOUR CREDITS AT A REAL COLLEGE. I would love to join any lawsuit out there I am not looking for money just restoring my Daughters' credit without paying this rip-off company for nothing.

If it the same thing my Daughter was going for don't do it. A credited College does not acknowlege anything you have learned there to further your education in the field (if you are very serious) you may find yourself repeating things including money for the classes.

My daughter is only a few months away from getting her Medical Assistant certificate from Sanford-Brown. Now, they've got her roped in to an $18,000 loan which she'll probably end up having to pay. BUT, I'd like to know if there is anything we can do! From what I'm reading, She'll never get a job in that field because no one will look at her resume......... WHAT DO WE DO? IS THERE A CLASS ACTION OUT THERE WE CAN SIGN UP FOR?

Prior CEC students,

We have a law group here in Tampa, Florida and a news investigation team.

We need your stories for the investigation team for their investigation and if it carries enough merit then the law group will include you in our class action on a contengency which includes no fees.

Visit my CEC advocate groups to get the information. This site is scadalous with CEC representatives trying to save face for CEC and I would like to stay far away from them.

Please contact me through the groups and we can go from there. CEC is on their last straw with the Federal Government and The Educational Department and I would love to assist in their collapse.

We also have the CBS 60 Minute investigation into CEC schools. :
CRT denied RRT

I was also a casulty of sanford brown college. I was told how great it was, how high i scored, how tuition was locked in, how any major university would except their credits. Well they lie!! I have been denied jobs because of where i went to school, the pay is not what they said either, My tuition raised an average of 5% every other quarter( 10 wks) i have 33,0000.00 in loans for the program because I didnt quailify for any help. So what do i have now. my crt which was suppose to have been an RRT program, and now they wont release my transcripts to NBRC for me to test for the RRT.
This college is a rip off. Save your money and dignity. Go to a real school that will benefit you not tie you down to a bunch of bills and be denied employment because of their school.

i am currently attending the rn bridge program at sbc. not only am i extremely disappointed in the staff's lack of subject knowledge and professionalism, but i too was mislead about the course's nln accredidation. i will graduate in 2008 owing tons of money. they refuse to issue my books to me (which is included in my tuition) if i am behind on their redicilious payment plan. they are constantly nagging me about securing payment through an "inhouse" loan. i refuse, so they inturn refuse to issue my books until i catch up my payments. i want to join the lawsuit, too. send me some info at if you know of any. thanks.

I went to Sanford-Brown College and graduated in 2004 and I have never had such a hard time finding a job since then. I thought maybe it was just the workforce but all this time it has been the no good degree I worked so hard to get for 14 months. Now I struggle to make my payment every month bcuz I don't have a job but I want to try and keep my credit half way decent. I want to get in on the lawsuit but I don't know who to contact. Can someone help me to find that information? Sent info to e and thank you.
